Something not right?

Description

Looks promising, but tarmac last just first two kilometers, then becomes hard sand. Passing on Thursday late afternoon I've seen two ropes on the ground and nobody to collect. Road in maps.me seems to be accurate.

Very nice track to go to Cabo de la Vela. If the ground is dry, there is no problem to drive by this way. When we come here there was a lot of kids with ropes, between 20 and 30, but we didn't stop. We slow down and they lower their cords made of tissue.

Road to Cabo de la Vela was perfectly doable with any vehicle. You do come across ~10 rope blocks with kids. They drop the rope when you give them water / crackers / … The easier road to Cabo de la Vela up north had no rope blocks (see the tourist attraction point up north for the turn-off).

That is the worse road to Cabo de la Vela. I will made a point for the better one.

Locals tried to fake a motorcycle accident here to get us to stop. DO NOT STOP!!! They threatened to throw rocks but they didn’t. We turned around to go back to the main road and saw they were fine and faking it. Locals said they try to say it was your fault and extort money or even worse. If you need directions ask the railroad security guards. They are friendly and honest and are everywhere along the train tracks.

After the relatively okay road, there is a sand track from the main road to the town. Lots of families with ropes but they drop them when you don't stop. Mostly kids. We stopped once to get something out the car and they came running over, they just wanted water and to sell us some bracelets. We gave them the water but didn't want the bracelets. There are lots of roads to take to get there, but they all pretty much lead to the same place. We used Maps.me for guidance. It's a long road and feels like you'll never make it, but the beach is worth it. The sand track can get really wet after it's been raining, but the locals will help guide you and get you out for a small tip.
