Yup, this is the way to do it. We parked here and walked up the road about 10minutes and saved the 10$ parking fee.

definitely the place to park. went to the lighting ceremony at 9pm and had no issues.

Beautiful area spent a couple of days there. There a a few lakes and hike all around this area that are incredible.
