Beware ...we were here Sunday afternoon August 27th 2023 with the intention of a much anticipated 2 day peaceful camping experience seeking the quiet and solace that we love from Wild camping as older adults. It turned into the worst EVER. The 1st site as you drive in is where we started with the hope the second site would open up its the best and we need a flatter area for our truck camper. There are 3 more sites further down at the end by the boat launch. This site had garbage and clothes and a sleeping bag in the bush with lots of potty piles of feces and toilet paper left close to the bush. The sites at the end were almost full and keep in mind for us this is a Very busy campground with boats, kneeboarding and seadoos on the lake, not sure why, the water is green and foul. Dirt bikes and atvs steady leaving you in thier dusty haze because the sites are right beside the road Strike one for noise. We didnt get next door in time after the loud family with a few small kids left, and shortly after a car with 2 guys parked for day use next to us drinking, cussing and dropping the f bomb every third word loudly for 3 hours. Strike 2 for noise..we kayaked to avoid then moved to that site. Little did we know the worst was yet to come for what was awaiting ...vehicles started streaming in with young people all afternoon at least 30 vehicles in total, we went down to check it out when the thumping music and the loud party noises started, rip to the campers in those other 2 spots down there, we went to discover a giant group of young people set to have a raunchy party. Much to our dismay we packed up at 7:15 pm when we should have been sitting by the fire to enjoy and kayaked and relax we knew this wouldn't end well and I reported it to the local RCMP who said this kind of campsite is a favorite place of the young people because it's deregulated. there is no way that that many young people together wouldn't be full out drinking they already were and then eventually driving since there was only one tent set up there's no way all those people could have fit in that site overnight. Instead we ended up wandering the countryside near dark looking for somewhere else to camp in vain we couldn't find anything until we drove to Muriel Lake and parked up on the lookout it was beautiful and quiet and since it was so late we ended up just staying there. I would never return to this spot again at least in the summer. the only way that I would ever consider coming back here again is when it's cold outside or in May or October when all the young people are in school or working on a Monday. Strike 3 for noise and a wild camping fail. Let's just say this campsite puts a whole new meaning to the word WILD camping

Beautiful crystal clear Lake. the camping was perfect. Nice spots all along the water

4-5 treed and sheltered sites along southeast side of Bear Trap Lake. No washroom facilities but there is an non-concrete boat launch and bear-proof garbage at the turnaround. Our two German Shepherds could be loose without disturbing others. The second site in on the lake is nice and flat. We'll go back.

Our first time using iOverlander. It's a beautiful spot and we had it to ourselves. A few bikers drove down the road for a rest and then headed back out. We parked at the spot across from the lake (at the end of the road). Great place to relax and watch the sunset.

we got lucky and grabbed the last spot (on a monday)! trees provide privacy but it's easy to hear everyone around. there was lots of trash when we arrived, including broken glass. tried to take as much garbage with us that we could find.

Roger's service was strong, koodo service was consistently 1-2 bars.

Really cool camping spot with really nice sunset on the lake. We consider ourselves really lucky. There’s trash can and fireplaces. The best spots are at the end one spot at the beginning of the road ans three at the end. One of them fit big rigs. Enjoy!!!
