If you are heading to/from Monterrico and El Salvador (operates between La Avellana and Monterrico) you can take these rickety wooden boats on a 20 minute ride on the river to save you from having to drive all the way through to Escuintla. The boats take two vehicles (maybe a moto or two as well) and charge depending on the size of the vehicle. It was 85q for my standard cab small pickup. Nice and interesting ride through the mangroves as well!

Report Check-InIt is really an adventure. We paid 225 Q for our car and 2 persons. But the boat was not dense and we had concerns that we achieve Monterrico but we have accomplished.
