Description

Haifax Seaport Parking Lot across from Farmer's Market/managed by Indigo. Stayed two nights with no restrictions. This is the best of the three Halifax Seaport parking lots and one CN Long Term Parking lot, all in this area and managed by Indigo. The sign clearly spells out that there is no charge and no prohibition against parking overnight on any night, as well as free day parking during the weekend. There is a porta-pottie but locked at night. Indigo parking car does stop around rarely but no hassles; mostly security. If you are here on Saturday morning, the Farmer's Market across the street is a great place to visit (with clean toilet). There are CN tracks behind this lot with some train noise but it is minimal in the evening and on the weekends. During the days, big rigs are moving containers to the container port. There are also cruise boats moving in and out of the cruise port in season. Good downtown location for one or a few nights.

Latest Check-Ins

Quiet enough night. A few noises but you are at a port. Nice walk along the boardwalk.

Report Check-In

As described, $3/hr (I think $12 max per day), free from 6pm to 8am and weekends. We talked to the employee and he said we were fine to stay overnight. We parked long ways across 4 spots in our 26ft class c and it was no problem.

Report Check-In

Came on a day 2 cruise ships were leaving so across the road was busy before they left. Also, unknowingly picked a day that at night was quiet (no transport trucks or trains). I left at 5am just to make sure because where you buy your parking ticket said free until 5am (added photo to show). However on the front entrance sign it still says 8am. Couldn’t find where it said 7am like other people mentioned, therefore must now be 5am. Didn’t want to pay per hour as it is $3/hr or max $12 for day. Security did patrol.

Nice place in Halifax Downtown
So close to Downtown and the Farmer Market (saturday and sunday)
Parking is just 12.00/days and free on saturday and sunday… Wow !
Toilet are available inside during working hours
But notice the Via Rail terminal just the other side of the parking lot
At night the keep the engine running… can be very noisy. They’re here every two days. You may check the schedule on Via Rail website

This was a great place! We stayed here three nights. We paid for Friday night and then had Saturday and Sunday nights free. We were in camper vans, so it’s a little easier to get level. We found that if we parked further up by the road it was a lot more level. No one bothered us and at night it was very quiet. It was great to be able to walk to the farmers market on the weekend and visit the Immigration Museum as well. Great location!

new price and hours. paid hours are 7am to 6pm not 8am anymore. price is also now $12 for the full day.

Report Check-In

Contrary to the description, the parking lot across from the Farmers Market has a clear sign saying no unauthorized truck or RV parking. We arrived at 10 pm and saw four RVs parked in the lot parallel to the tracks. The parking meter said free until 5 am. Given we didn’t want to wake up at 5 am to pay for parking and given the sign said no unauthorized RV parking, we moved to the VIA Rail long term parking lot instead (two parking lots away). We paid $18 for 24 hours so we can walk downtown tomorrow. We did not see a sign saying RVs could not park here. There were several other RVs here as well. Each parking lot along here seems to have different rules and costs.

This is a great spot, we arrived Wednesday evening after 6pm and left on Monday before 8am. Paid 20$ total for Thursday and Friday day parking 10$ each day. So got a total of 5 nights and 4 days for 20$, the weekend is free parking and free evening parking from 6pm-8am.

There are toilets by the Canadian immigration museum, but only open from 6am-6pm!

Great walking distance to the pier and downtown and most amenities! Awesome location to be tourists. It was very quiet at night for us even slept with the windows open.

Good spot. Lots of other camper types. Stayed 1 night no problem, class B Promaster.

Grand stationnement.

Big parking lot, in the back near the rails. Not leveled but ok. Free on nights and weekends. We felt safe. 25 minutes walk to downtown, the citadel, public gardens, etc. 10 min to warf.

Spacious, big rig friendly, across farmers market and short distance to the waterfront harbour and deck walk. Lots of places to eat around here.

Report Check-In

Très grand parking, je me suis mis au fond collé aux rails, gratuit samedi dimanche et de 18h à 8h la semaine, le bruit de la route se fait entendre le matin vers 6-7h,un ou deux trains faisant une manoeuvre en fin de journée

Report Check-In

We spent two nights here. It was exactly as described. You can hear the trains and fog horns in the early morning, but we still slept okay and the kids slept right through (we do have a white noise machine).

The security guards come through the lot between 8-8:15am to check you have paid or left for the day. Both guards we met were really friendly. The first morning when we went to pay at 8am, the security guard gave us a free one hour of parking (until 9am) as we needed a little more time before leaving the lot.

There are clean and warm bathrooms across the road at Pier 21.

Good spot close the Farmer market, big space to put a big rig. Could be noisy at night.

Report Check-In

Great spot for the night and as said in other posts, close to a lot that Halifax has to offer. Parked here Saturday afternoon and overnight no problems. Parked at the back of the lot parallel to the tracks

Report Check-In

We spent two nights on the place. The port security was not interested in is. It was a good place to stay after we got our RV off the ferry

Grand stationnement gratuit la nuit payant le jour.
Parfait pour visiter le centre ville

Report Check-In

This is a paid parking. But starting to friday 18h and all the weekend it’s free. So you can stay there almost free and it is not far from the boardwalk and the farmer’s Market.
