Description

La Veranera is a Beachfront Guesthouse at Playa El Coco. We were allowed to camp in our van in their "car park“ - a gated grassy area under trees for shade - direct at the beach - see pictures. Please make sure to E-mail ahead before arriving to check if they can accommodate you!

Clean bathroom with cold shower. Clean swimming pool.
Electricity is possible if you have a long extension cord, we did not plug in though.
Tracy the manager is super helpful and friendly as is all staff.
Make sure you are stocked up on groceries before coming, not much around here. A small tienda a few yards and vegetables/fruit vendors, water truck e.g. stop a few times during the week. But you can also have breakfast and dinner here.
Place is muy tranquilo, beach is perfect for swimming or learning to surf as the waves are nice but not too big. During the week we were nearly alone on the beach and even the weekends are far from overcrowded. We only wanted to stay a couple of days and ended up being here for over 2 weeks :)
For us definitely the best place in Nicaragua, a real jewel.

I just parked on the street, in front of beach for 2 nights and was OK.

Report Check-In

I asked today, no camping allowed anymore.

Report Check-In

The beach is very beautiful, plus an incredible sunset is seen here and the facilities are very good. But, there was no way to get a discount or park for free, you must pay $15 USD for 2 ppl, pool, WiFi, bathrooms, and cold shower included 24/7. Tracy the manager very friendly, excellent service.
But it is 18 kilometers from the center of San Juan del Sur, more than half is ballast road and not in a very good condition. However, it is suitable for any type of vehicle but low cars could suffer a lot, it took us 50 minutes to arrive in our Kombi.

Report Check-In

They offered us a special family prize of 45 USD per night. Later they lowered it to 30 USD. We rejected both and stood at a nice site nearby 15 meters from the beach for 10 USD including electricity and wifi.
