Something not right?

Description

Right in the first curve of the 10 km "pass", there is a "Sendero Salto Padre Garcia".When you enter after 50m immediately at the right, there is flat-ish area big enough for our 2-person tent and bikes.
Hidden from the road, visible to people who would walk the "Salto Padre Garcia", only tent (small).

Latest Check-Ins

Only for cyclists, as you have to walk the first few meters of a trail to get there. As the others said, only space for one two or three person tent, if you squeeze it. Not visible from the road, but you will see headlights in the tent. Very little traffic at night though. The ground is uneven and not exactly flat, but it's good enough for a night and drains well. I had rain all day and night and no puddle formed under or near my tent.

Report Check-In

The road work has cut a flat area where one vehicle could park. But might be dusty. Wind break of a huge sign advertising construction. Not idea for overnight but fine to cool your brakes.
Also moist space for a small tent down the trail a bit. Trade off sound of waterfall for wet gear!

The easiest water resource is under Puente Chucao. There are plenty of water resources all along the climb after, so no need to carry a lot.

Probably the best wild camping experience so far. My tent and quilt stayed really dry!

Report Check-In

There is indeed room for only one two person tent just at the beginning of the trail. Bit of an effort to push bicyles to the spot. Waterfall is loud and you can hear some roadnoise. This spot is good if you arrive late and can not make the climb uphill. We decided not to start taking the climb at 19.00 in the evening- the views uphill are nice in daylight and there are sinkholes on the edge of road. One had dead cow in the bottom- so in dark be careful.
You can get water to drink from the river next to the bridge right before the curve. Green stones are steep and slippery but water is accessible.
