Latest Check-Ins

We went a little bit further up, a lot more spots along the road. Extremely busy during the day ! Beside that nice place, no service with Google Fi.

About 3 miles up Forest Rd 151 (aka, N Hart Pr Rd) from 181, opens up to a whole different kind of forest.
The altitude is about 8,400’ (from about 7,700’ at 181/151. This lowers the temperatures about 4 degrees from just the start of 151.
Lost of trails, dirt roads and wildlife to enjoy.

This is N Harts Pr Rd off the 180. The comments seem to be about of nearby location. But where this icon is at on the map, I am right.
It is NOT close to Pilot. Currently there is a fire ban, so check online before you think about having a fire.
I stayed in the second pull off from 180. Right off the main road. There is LOTS of traffic. Like 40 cars/trucks a day. Most go slow, but some speed by and kick up lots of dust. I have 2 bars of cellular and nice weather at 7700’.
There are many more places further in. My buddy drove in 3 more miles. He is at 8400’, and the temperature is about 3-5 degrees cooler. And he says much less traffic.
Leave No Trace!

Report Check-In

Even tho i parked in the big lot right off the main road, it was still super quiet. Tmobile ranged from 2 bars of LTE to two bars of 5g. Picked up a bit of trash but wasn't bad at all.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot for camping. Long road with many campsites along it.

Report Check-In

heading from Grand Canyon to Flagstaff, a lot of the Forest camping was closed due to snow, but we found a spot to pull in here before the closed gate. under the ponderosa pines, lots of mud, but we didn’t have any issues with the dry spot we found in our 2WD. picked up a lot of trash though.

Report Check-In

Many fine spots along the road. No special clearance needed. Also, easy, large, off-highway parking at the turn off. Plenty of space for any size rig in a pinch.

Report Check-In

The road was still closed but we stayed on the side parking areas and were not bothered. Some road noise and couple of cars coming into their property past the gate. Very nice for one night.

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot. 4 other vehicles camping too, but still plenty of space and some ATT service too. 2 other dispersed spots we tried to check out were closed so this might be one of the few available this time of year

Report Check-In

The road is closed, but there are 2 large areas on either side of the road with plenty of parking. We were the only ones here. Super quiet. Some mud and snow on the ground, but not a problem. AT&T worked fine here.

Report Check-In

Forest service road with multiple cleared camping sites on both sides. Awesome view of the stars on a clear night. Ground is level in most areas.

Report Check-In

Crowded but quiet. Just over 2 miles to Bellemont Pilot.

Report Check-In

Close to Pilot. right off of 151 just past 222a. Can get far enough off 151 to minimize dust.

Report Check-In

The road was gated off so we couldn’t make it to the coordinates listed but we parked in the lot before the gate alongside a couple other campers. Quiet, peaceful night, but extremely cold as it’s at 7,500 ft elevation. Seems like the majority of forest service roads in this area are closed this time of year.

Report Check-In

Loud. Busy. Nonstop traffic on this side road. Unless you’re in an RV or van or something I would not recommend. I didn’t want to stay here but had been on the road for 9 hours and the sun was setting and I was too tired to spend more time trying to find a spot And set up my tent in the dark. It’s fine in a pinch I suppose. Nice fire ring. Plenty of wood to collect. Lots of cow manure. Must be a farm near by.
