Description

Free spot for street parking. Quiet at night. North Clark Street has free parking on Sundays.
Farther south, there was a sign with restrictions about parking & towing. Last night no one bothered us.
Very close to the zoo and the nature boardwalk.
It is just 5 minutes walking to the sandy shores.

Very good location in Chicago to spend the night. Stayed for 3 nights and had no problems. In the park you can find public restrooms. We felt safe. Close by a street with a lot of cafes and restaurants. There is a specific time on Wednesdays and Saturdays that you can’t park.

Parked just south of this on Stockton for just under 24 hours - no issues! There was a sign that says no overnight parking Wednesday Or Saturday. Wasn’t sure if that applied to the whole area or if there are sections that alternate days. Was a bit loud but once the bus stopped running it was fairly quiet.

North Stockton drive, through Lincoln Park, has a few restrictions during the week (for food vending trucks on Wed and Sat… otherwise great spot to sleep over. Beautiful park with trails and pond, we slept right by the zoo. There is traffic on this road, city busses and all, a few loins music pounding cars before midnight, but felt safe and no o e bothered us.

Parked overnight in a Tesla farther north toward Fullerton. Slept soundly and planning to leave the car here today for a beach day. Parking already pretty full at 7am Saturday but a couple spaces available.

great spot. had a peaceful sleep, woken up by the birds in the zoo, not crime. 10/10

Easy street parking. I was parked right next to the zoo. No parking allowed Wed and Sat 4am-7pm for farmers market vendor setup. Pretty great spot. Buses that come down the road are pretty loud, especially as they accelerate away from the bus stops. Great cafe nearby in the bottom of a hotel for morning coffee. Highly recommend this spot!

Great spot to stay in Chicago! We spent three nights here without issue - left our van all day to go explore the city. Lots of traffic in morning and evening but quiets down overnight. Not big rig friendly

Pretty great spot considering. We are the complete opposite of stealth and nobody bothered us for one night. It also felt relatively safe to leave our vehicle alone while we went into the city. Traffic is pretty constant during the night, and finding a spot can be tricky, but overall we were stoked on how well this worked out.

The only thing I would say is oversized rigs would have a tough time parking here. We’re in a 20’x8’ Toyota Camper and just barely squeezed into a spot.

Stayed here last night with no issues. This was my first time sleeping in a city though so I definitely was very discreet

For being in a city, it's pretty good. Great walking in the park. The spot marked in ioverlander is unlimited parking all days. There are a few blocks of this on both sides of the road. A bit further south you get restrictions on Wed and Sat, but the rest is ok. We had no problem finding a spot, but it does fill up by evening. Gets quieter overnight, but still traffic at times.

Convenient location! Bus lines 151 and 156 run down this street every 15 minutes and take you to the Downtown, close to Chicago's main landmarks (Magnificent Mile, Chicago 360, Milenium Park, Chicago Art Institute, Historic Route 66 End/Begin Sign, Willis Tower, Riverwalk, etc.) U$ 2.50

Very good spot in Chicago. Close to the Old Town area. About 30-40 min to go downtown by walk. The Park and the Zoo are very nice and free, as the parking.
We had no problems during our 2 nights over here. Recommanded!

Great free parking spot in a really nice and safe area. Lincoln Park is beautiful and has a free zoo, a long dog-friendly boardwalk, and events like yoga classes and outdoor movie nights. The Cafe Brauer restaurant is nearby and has a nice dog-friendly outdoor patio.

I parked 300 metres south of here, but have easily found parking every night I’ve come here (three total times, a stay of 3-4 days each). Close proximity to the lake is great.

Not easy to find an empty spot (we parked there friday evening, saturday and sunday any car moving out was immediately replaced by an other one, many cars parked on friday were still there monday), but very nice location to visit the zoo & beautiful views of downtown from neaby lakeside trail (easy bike ride to Magnificent Mile & downtown).
