Had a BLM worker knock on my window while I was trying to relax here and say there's no dispersed camping in this area. only in the designated camping spots near Rainbow Basin across the road.
Report Check-InI spent two nights here, and as I was getting ready to leave a BLM ranger came by and told me if you want to camp you have to go to the campground. Seems like they give verbal warnings first, because he had thought his partner gave me a warning the first day I was there but no one had. He was friendly and understanding.
Report Check-InGreat camping indeed, however we got a visit from a BLM ranger this morning who informed us that this is a “limited use” area and we’re not supposed to camp here. He referred us to the BLM campground nearby. Ranger was super nice, didn’t ask us to leave but asked that we go to the campground instead. I suspect the other wild camping options nearby are subject to the same “limited use”
rule
wonderful place to tent camp!! don’t try to go in the grassy area though, the grasshoppers and bugs are insane; we set up camp on the dirt and I didn’t even sleep in the tent and the bugs were fine. stars are amazing !!! nice sunrise too. drive to the spot feels like the twilight zone because it lasts forever haha, the spot is super far down the road which was nice but kind of unnecessary, I think you can definitely stop before the gps coordinates and find a good spot
Report Check-InYea the road is washboarded. Well worth it though. No one around nice an quiet. Many other spots on the area. Flat and open. Great site for star gazing
Report Check-InWind is crazy and the road is washboarded out, but it’s a cool place with a good view!

Amazing night sky full of stars!
Secluded. Quiet. No one around me. Lots of glass on the ground though.
Report Check-InGreat loction, hurge sites. All the “side roads” on my this street are camp sites. Perfect reception, beautiful night sky, super quiet. Easy access through well maintained dirt road. 11/10
Report Check-InThe road is no longer in good condition. It’s passable with my FWD van but I was crawling. Didn’t stay here but seems like a great place.
Report Check-InLooks like the road has been made recently. You can easily access this spot with a normal 2wd car.
Report Check-InNice, flat area to park the skoolie. Road was rough getting here but very manageable in most vehicles. Perfect place for social distancing during these crazy Coronavirus times!
