Description

Near a gas station and a small pond where live several turtles. The Wallmart is open 24h which is very convenient for last minute shopping without being disturbed by a crowd of clients. Arby's Restaurant is in the same parking lot.
A perfect place for sleeping before heading back.

Large Walmart parking lot. Lots of good reviews on iOverlander will flag that there seem to be a lot of signs prohibiting overnight parking took the risk anyway, given all the good reviews. Stayed one night and parked near the back around the gas station. Got in around 10:30 PM and left around 8:30 AM. Quiet night and unbothered. Safe travels!

One of the biggest Walmarts I’ve ever been in seems like almost 2 football fields long. Has just about everything you can imagine. But it is no longer open 24 hours. I did stay overnight, and it was quiet and peaceful.

Report Check-In

It was me in my van and some other rigs. Had a good night sleep. It wasn’t noisy for the most part. All I heard was other campers :)

any Walmart that still allows an overnight is a good Walmart!

Report Check-In

Called and they said they allow overnight parking for 24 hours if you park at the back of the lot near the gas station and Arby’s

Report Check-In

About 4-6 others rigs, very quiet, no problem at all.

Report Check-In

I asked about staying one overnight, at the Service Desk. She said park as close to gas station as possible and leave first thing in the morning. Also, to stay with vehicle. Asked if I have a big rig, which I don’t. One other van and a small camper were also there.

Report Check-In

'No overnight parking' signs all over the parking lot. We did not stay.

Report Check-In

We asked for permission and were told to park near the gas station. Very quiet night. Internet connectivity was good.

Closes at 11pm. Mgr quickly and nicely gave permission, just asked that I pick up after myself, left no time constraints. Lot frequented by other travelers. It’s in one of the safest areas of Myrtle Beach (the other being North Myrtle Beach). I this chose Surfside Walmart after checking out other Walmart’s in the area. First night was just me and a few beaten up vans and cars; 2nd night was a big decent-looking RV, a few nicer vans, me in my car, a minivan that I think stays here a lot and a few local car sleepers. Everyone was cool.

Report Check-In

Called to check if overnight parking is still allowed. Front desk confirmed and mentioned to park by the water (near the gas station). Highway is on the other side of the water but noise wasn’t bad at all. Choice of well lit and darker areas and felt totally safe. Other RVs showed up throughout the night.
