Report Check-InA ranger came by yesterday and said in a couple of weeks, this area will be no camping. The camping is being pushed back in 1/2 mile.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Solid T-Mobile. Awesome view of the mountains. Quiet. It was very windy the night we came here and I was kind of scared of a tree falling but we good. Pretty close off the road. Snow was no factor in the early bit of March. Close to snow bowl. Road definitely Rutty and Washboardy with some mud but we are in @the.Guss.bus and it handled it fine as long as you go slow. Will be back!
Report Check-InNice little camp site with a fire ring and easy turn around for a camper or trailer. Woke up to nothing but beautiful views, trees and snow.
Report Check-InThis area is open, although you can see signs of a rain event perhaps flooding through the area recently. Very quiet during the week, assuming it’s a zoo on the weekends. We have stayed here several times, both off FR 776 and out in the cinder fields. Good cell reception.

Report Check-InLots of space on a good forest road. There are no camping signs for the first 1/2 mile then it’s allowed. Because its close to Flagstaff there were lots of others camping here. Plenty of trees and decent cell signal.

Report Check-InWe're not at the posted coordinates, but drive by the location as we drive deeper into Cinders OHV area. This is one of fave locations in the US... bold statement, I know. We have a 2WD Sprinter so we have to be extremely careful where we drive in the Cinders. I'd recommend recovery tracks, a traction device, a winch, or a hi-lift jack, otherwise you'll be sorta risking it. We've be stuck for over an hour slowly inching our way back onto safe terrain. The area is extremely popular year-round due to the awesome terrain, views, and campsite locations. Basically, if you can navigate your vehicle to a spot, then you can camp there. Our go-to spot has a beautiful view of the San Franciso Peaks, Humphrey's Peak,, and Flagstaff's Dooney Park area. Plenty of sun for the solar panels, nice hikes, and great views for timelapses, or drone shots! We've literally camped in the area off and on for months. It is an OHV area, so expect folks to randomly drive by, or sometimes through, on motorcycles, side-by-sides, or Jeeps every now and again. My wife does Zoom calls for 6hrs per day for work, plus we're hard-core gamers, and we're finding great speeds out here... ya just gotta know where the cell tower is and plan accordingly.
Report Check-InBeware! We got our camper van stuck! Sand is super deep in some areas, use extreme caution. Otherwise the Verizon service has 2 bars, felt safe, other campers dispersed around the area. It smelt nice.

Report Check-InOh my gosh. I did make it here after the flash flood warning and rain stopped, but do not go on a Saturday night. Its 1030pm and there’s still ATVs out and Im surrounded.
The only thing that hasn’t happened outside my van window tonight is break dancing.
That’s probably at midnight.

Failed check in? Was excited to head to area when on lark just now 10 min away noticed emergency warning on weather.com - just cloudy BUT there’s a flash flood warning as it rained in another area and now this area is at receiving end.
If not a local easy to miss/not realize its a flood zone, esp without active rain in Flagstaff. Just heads up/check before you go it can be deceiving.
