Excelente lugar para parar en cartagena, nosotros nos estacionamos en frente de donde marca overlander porque es una parada de taxis. Nos sentimos muy seguros y está cerca de todo. Los días que estaba el cuidador de coches le dimos 5mil col sin ningún problema.

We came here first....and then a few minutes later we realized.....! The smell of pee is huge ! All the taxi drivers pee between the cars or in bottles and then throw it out in this area! Imagine....the heat + pee ....So ...late we couldn't take it anymore and move to the other spot. (behind the Hilton and next to the restaurant, new point were is allowed!) Way more quiet and no smell !

We try this spot in the parking side, but it was smelling urine so badly. Someone told us that usually a taxi drivers come here to pees. So we moved behind a Hilton hotel.

we slept here 4 nights, the 3rd night police came by and told us that it was not allowed to sleep here because it was a public street. So we moved to the front parking in the same spot (we were just besides the lake). Quiet at night and safe.

Didn't stay, lots of people and taxis.
Check out the other entry "Behind Hilton Hotel". In our opinion the better option.

Great place for preparing the jump to Panama or after arriving. Quiet during the night and felt very save, fantastic brise during the nicht for sleeping. We stay three nights at this position without issues and move later with another travellers under the tree at the Hilton side (10.394729 -75.559426)
In both places you can connect for free at Hotel Caribe or at the Hilton hhonors.
The owner of the restaurant is a little grumpy but he allow us to use the toilet.

As everyone in Cartagena, we were searching for a place to pop the top in the city that was safe and nice at the same time. we were not too happy about all the options on IO so we asked around. While importing our car at Dian, we met a guy from Argentina who said: Don't you know about the Hilton-place? We didn't. It's a small parkin lot next to a bus station 100 metres away from the Hilton Hotel. It's very safe and at a small lake where you can rent little boats in the morning. People from Cartagena and the surrounding skyscrapers come here to walk their dogs or just watch the sky from one of the benches. No toilets or amenities but maybe you can use the washroom of the close-by restaurant!
