Ecuador
Very good place to park and camp near the border in Mandala, 6 km north of Macara. There are signs on the Panamericana. Very quiet, and the host Alberto is very friendly and helpful. It's also bug free. Plenty of level space on concrete for at least six big rigs. Tents are welcome, but you camp on concrete. Very highly recommended! We gladly paid the $5pp Alberto asked for. Cold water showers by the pool, hot only in the rooms. Very easy to get up for an early start in the morning, the roosters take care of that... : )

very nice place, paved parking lot, clean, ample space. Toilets with seat and paper :-); cold showers, pool, area for washing the dishes. Safe, quiet night. Only the roosters and the donkeys wake you up at dawn.
Beware: Road to the place is very steep, you can drive with a regular car, we made it with our 6 t 4x4 Iveco Camper, but bigger rigs might have a problem.
Exactly what was mentionned by previous travelers, except that the last 50 meters of the road to enter in the hotel are very very very hard for a camper like ours (steep and roughly road) : Fiat Ducato camping-car.
Report Check-InGreat place to stop for a night before the border crossing into Peru. The roosters and dogs make sure you get an early start. $5 pp
Report Check-InApart from one of the guest turning up the car stereo after night out we had a great overnight stay. We camped. We had diner there aswell, $6 for 2, was good. Small pool looks nice.
Report Check-InVery nice guy. 5$pp slept in the car. Nice place if ou cross the border late. There is a big pool and a small one and the owner said we had access to them as well as the sauna that we didnt see or use so cant say if good or not! Cold shower if not in a room. Rooms are 15$pp. 1.50$ for big cold beers :)
Report Check-InExcellent place to park near the border. Very quiet, and the host Alberto is very friendly and helpful. Its also bug free, unlike down by the river at the border. Plenty of level space on concrete for at least six big rigs. Tents are welcome, but you camp on concrete. Very highly recommended! We gladly paid the $5pp Alberto asked for. Cold water showers by the pool, hot only in the rooms.
