Description

Wide open and stunning. The road in is great when dry. Dozens, maybe millions, of camp spots around. Soooo quiet. No nothin. Pack it out. I could live here.

Latest Check-Ins

There are dozens and dozens of amazing spots along this road. Like with any area, there are some spots that that have a little better view than others. I got lucky on my very first night of Boondocking in my van and snagged a spectacular site.

I actually had 2-3 bars of ATT LTE service. Text/Apple messages worked fine. Even managed to upload a 5 min video to YouTube in about 30 minutes.

Most sites seem to have fire rings but there was a sign posted at the entrancing saying there is a Fire Restriction in effect.

Gorgeous spot! Lots of pull offs, privacy, level, dark skies full of stars, and areas to hike/bike. No cell service.

Rolled into the valley of the gods and was definitely not disappointed!!

These views are the best we've seen in the country. Free spot (many available). Large, flat, fire ring. No Verizon service. Sign says road is impassable when wet, but there was a freak storm last night with scary winds and lots of rain. Road was not only passable, but they were grading it when I woke up. Lots of room for your dog to walk.

Cute spot. Makes for a lovely walkabout. Worth the extra drive

cannot believe it's free! def one of the coolest places I've camped at, do ur self a favor and look up at the sky on a clear night, it's absolutely majestic. no services other then fire pits, no ATT cell signal (but didn't miss it). under certain cloud conditions and sunsets, this place can seem cartoonishly unreal

The main road is somewhat busy and people will stop in your camp to take pictures of the valley if you stay in the pull off spots with a view. Try to find spots that are farther off of the road if you want quiet.

There are plenty of spaces to camp on Valley of the Gods road!

We didn’t stay at this exact location but further up the road.

Really amazing area to explore! We stayed a couple days and would’ve stayed longer if it weren’t so hot!

With our weboost we had some cell service, Verizon.

Hello
You must do it...
We sleep to gooseneck campground and we do this road early in the morning with our 26" motorhome.
Early it's 08.00 because there is nobody and you don't disturb with your truck.
Enjoy this nice place.

Good location about 1 mile south of this coordinates, overview of the whole Valley of the Gods. You can also see most of Monument Valley at a distance. Arrived on the 3nd of June 2019, probably stay until the 6th.

Stayed there last night. Many pull offs along the way, it gets hard to choose.
Amazing view. Hard to stop looking and taking pictures.
Nicest spot on that side, sunrise side. On top of a little hill. Bumpy, but doable with our 2wd low clearance extra long van.
Windy as the whole valley, I think.
It seems that people come for the overnight : We were the last one to leave the area around 12.

We drove to the other side to get the light from sunset for our pictures.

Road conditions are good, except 2 or 3 deep washes.

Absolutely amazing area. There are quite a few campsites off of the main loop. Fires are technically not allowed and most of the sites didn't have fire rings. Nice and quiet, great views, fun driving.

Amazing place. Definitely one of the best spots we've stayed at in this area. Stunning views, so many places to park. Just take the dirt road and choose the one you like. This specific spot has some amazing views. We stayed for one night, it was very quiet, calm and lonely. As beautiful as any National Park in the area and it's free, we really liked it here. No cell service.

Lots of people out camping. Most spots were taken but we found a roadside pullout that was nice and level. Good for the sun rise. Quiet. Free. Beautiful all around.
