Nice dispersed camping not far from Peak to Peak Highway 72. There are a few other good campsites around. Zero AT&T.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Beautiful and secluded spot, several campsites with fire pits, no other amenities. Reservoir is marked as private property and there are no spots with a view of the reservoir that I saw.
Report Check-InGot here around 3:00 on Thursday afternoon. A few spots left. Some of the spots like mine aren’t very far back and don’t have great views. But walk down the road and you’re all set. I’m right by the Sourdough Trailhead too.
Also I came from the East and there was a big sign that permits are required through September. Maybe that was for a specific area though?
Report Check-InGood location with a few spots, with varying sizes. Some are open and could accommodate a large group; others would be best with walk-in camping.
Report Check-InWe stayed for 10 days. The water spout mentioned in other comments was definitely frozen and buried under snow. Couldn't even find where it was. However James creek is less than 10 minutes away and we got water from there as it's not completely frozen. The camping area isn't huge, just 4 spots for vehicles, but very pretty.
Report Check-InNice spot, quiet, and small water source directly out of the ground.
Report Check-InThe Reservoir is dry up and is private lake but the road has a lot of campsite some are deep in forest some are 4x4 is get into Beautiful trails all around No amenities Must be self contained 14 days for free
Report Check-InNot crowded on this rainy, Memorial Day weekend. Quiet with plenty of space.
Report Check-InNice spot! Saw a moose, found flat ground. Drive up wasn't too bad, we drove through using an SUV
Report Check-InAwesome sites. Pretty quiet with two or three campers but lots of open spaces. Beautiful for stargazing.
Report Check-InSpent 3 nights here, really great place. Super packed on the weekend but we were still able to find a private spot. Sign says permits required but not in this particular area. ATV noise on the weekend, but died down by night. CR 96 is a well packed gravel/dirt toad. The entrance to the specific site we stayed in was a little rough but manageable.
