Description

Lovely place as described earlier. Very clean bathrooms, laundry and well-maintained common areas. There is/was no bar/restaurant. The second-story palapas are the highlight of this place but they are very old and rickety. Not suitable for young children or folks who have problems with stairs, but what a great place to hang a hammock and read the day away. We will return if they fix the electrical problem. Not fair to say it was all their fault but our surge protector wouldn't allow a connection, indicating it was either too low or too high. Paid $38 p/nt. Owner/Manager Josefina was very gracious and concerned about our power problem. This is a nice place but not within walking distance to town (although we did). If that matters to you, call a taxi.

Got a beachside Palapa here for a quick stopover. Great view and easy to town for errands, water, groceries etc. Rigs close together but everyone was friendly and respectful, quiet. Walking on the beach at sunrise is a great introduction to
Baja!

Cons: We did not risk the upper level of the palapa as it did not feel stable. Showers were not warm. The dogs barked much of the night. I think it’s expensive for what you get compared to elsewhere in Baja but it was worth it for us.

Enjoyed staying at La Palapa. we had picked to stay at turistico but was not impressed with the accomondations or beach. Checked out Kikis which was our next pick but was 700 peso per nite, Ended up staying next door at La Palapa and was very pleased. Josephina was very helpful. smaller place but fit our lg truck and camper . Had our own palapa. Beach is nice and sandy. Washrooms have lots of hot water, and clean. Our starlink worked amazing. Power , sewer and water at sites. I would stay here again

Report Check-In

We stayed here a couple days ago on our first night in Mexico and now that we are headed back north we decided to stay here again. the spots are closed together but the clean bathrooms and hot showers make up for it. We usually like to boondock in the middle of nowhere but when we visit towns places like this are great. The double decker palapa are cool but I'm sure they'd be lawsuit material in the US. I enjoyed them.
We will return when passing through town.

Great spot for our first stop after crossing the border. Electrical, water and dump at each site. Electric hook-up was spotty as our surge protector would give an error occasionally., usually in the morning or at night. Price was $600 pesos per night but a discount was given for staying longer. We paid $500 pesos per night for a 4 night stay. Easy access to a lovely beach right below the camp area.

paid 600pesos for full hook up, it wasn't as nice as I expected, but decent enough for the night

Report Check-In

paid $35 USD for site will hook ups, not big rig friendly, facilities are old but right on the beach do decent enough, nice atmosphere, WiFi available

Report Check-In

They were sold out but had a parking space we could fit into. Hot showers but nowhere to put your stuff while showering, so bring minimal stuff in with you. Beautiful little stretch of beach.

Report Check-In

Lovely place for our first stop in Mexico after crossing the Mexicali East border. 600 peso for a beachfront spot and absolutely worth it. Hot showers, plug ins, water, firewood for bbq . Extremely nice people and dogs that live on the property are super friendly. I did yoga on the high rise palapa overlooking the water.

Report Check-In

Nice spot and really nice people. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Would come back again.

Report Check-In

Great beachfront camp spot within easy walking distance of the Malecon in San Felipe. Friendly lady manning the office, washrooms, shower, wifi, electric, water (not potable) 600 pesos for beachfront per night.

Report Check-In

Great location right on the beach. Dogs on campground are friendly. Walking distance to Malecón San Felipe. Will be back.

Report Check-In

Excellent camp on the quieter stretch of beach north of the Malecón. Each sight is flat and has electricity, non-potable water, an observation platform/sunshade, grill and table. There are sewer lines at most sites. There are common hot showers and toilets. The entire place is well maintained and friendly.

This is one of many on this stretch of beach. The owner/operator Josafina prefers quiet clientele, so this isn’t a party scene, but it attracts some wonderful people.

Other pluses: two wonderfully friendly camp dogs that will keep you company if you’re open to them. Beautiful sunrises. Few and respectful vendors.

I believe the rate fluctuates between $25 and $35 US dollars a night.

We came for a night and stayed for six!

Report Check-In

Place is nice but a little rundown. Definitely need some TLC. Hot showers were a big plus. Too many dang dogs running around on this property and crapping on the beach in front of the property. Be careful walking out to the beach at night time so you don’t step in a load. Dogs were fighting all night and someone at the campground tried to break up the fighting and got bit. The police wound up being called. I would stay here possibly again myself but not with my family. The hot showers were a big plus!

The owner was very nice and helped us out with different requests. That’s appreciated.

Great little facility. We stopped in to San Filipe to catch up on work stuff, stock up on groceries, and shower - stayed a few nights and are leaving happy. Good mix of people and enough vacant spots to not feel crowded. However if it were a busy week I could see how one could feel a little close. Spaces definitely aren’t huge - if you have a roof tent that folds open it might be a tight squeeze in some of the spots (the center area looks like it would work well though).

Not fair to say it was all their issue but our surge protector wouldn't allow a connection, indicating it was either too low or too high. Paid $40 per night without electricity and that is high for the area. Kiki's next door is $35 p/nt but don't know if they have good electrical. This location is not really walking distance to town (although we did) so if that is important to you, heads up. Taxis can be called.

This was my first stop in Baja. $25 USD for a palapa on the beach. $20 for the others. Josephina at the front desk was nice. There were only 3-4 other palapas occupied while I was there for 3 nights. Bathrooms and showers with hot water were included. WiFi was good closer to the front and I was able to DL some movies. The beach is soft sand and the tide goes way out, leaving some dope tide pools. There was someone awake all night acting as security after the front gates were locked, yet my neighbors (who were there to party) had some things stolen overnight, so don’t leave stuff out. I walked to town the first night to get boozed up and watch some football. The walk back just after sunset was kinda shady and I was harassed by an intimidating pack of dogs, so I’d suggest driving if you’re out at night. Overall a good experience and a nice place to stay while enjoying San Felipe.

Report Check-In

Super nice! Rubens next door looked to be closed under re-construction and Kikis looked fine but wanted $30 and had nothing left on the beach so we came here and love it. 5-6 beach front spots with your own raised deck and full hook up at $25 a nightly. Wifi was fine, Clean hot showers, nice staff, quiet at night and felt 100% safe, 15 min walk to the boardwalk and plenty of restaurants. I'm not sure if larger rigs could fit directly on the beach we were OK at 24 and later a 34' Class C pulled up to a beach front palapa no problem. Seems not all people were charged the same rate so ask first, 35amp was 125-130v I believe but the 15a was better at 115v. We checked out victors at the opposite end of town and they were basically empty and offered the same deal with some cheaper dry-camping options.

Report Check-In

They now ask 500 pesos so I didn’t stay.

Report Check-In

Nice spot on the beach. Arrived mid-afternoon and was offered a beach front spot. Full hookup, 20 amp power with 30 amp connection. Quiet. Cell reception looks good, but it's actually a little wonky (Telcel via ATT) on the data connection. Usable but slow. US$25 or MX$380.

Report Check-In

Stayed 2 nights here. Nice hot showers but WiFi is very slow. Getting work done was excruciating. I recommend going to a restaurant in town for their WiFi, Rosita.

Report Check-In

Great spot to spend a night or two. Came here with 5 vans and we got the last 5 spots. $15 each.

Report Check-In

Not as busy as nearby RV parks, got a spot right on the ocean. 15 minute walk to San Felipe restaurants. Beautiful view, sandy beach, clean and friendly! $25/night - Nov 2019

Report Check-In

Nice place warm water showers outlet and running water

Report Check-In

2 story palapa balconies, right on the beach 20-25$ mur'ican/night, full hookups with water, showers, bathrooms, very few vendors bugging you, owners are old and very accomplished, San Filipe has everything you need including alkaline drinking water fill up stations for 8 pesos/ gallon.

Report Check-In

Nice beach, clean restrooms, Men’s shower does have warm water but it’s not for the faint of heart. shallow warm water, great view of the light house. Lots of flies (late October). Excellent cell signal with Verizon. $30/night for beach front space.

Report Check-In

Really nice spot. A night costs now 35.-$ but we could handel it down to 500.-pesos. A small oasis within this party town! 12 places with tabels, firepits and a two story palapa!

Report Check-In
