We talked to the motel manager and they told us that as of last week they are no longer allowed to tell people they’re allowed to camp here. They said if you’re too tired to keep driving then they aren’t allowed to tell you to leave, and they haven’t seen any rangers patrolling. We didn’t risk it! The water tap was great though.

Report Check-In

I tried to stay here overnight, but apparently Parks Canada sent a letter to the motel telling them no to allow overnight stays in their parking lot. The person at the front desk said the owner is fighting it. Marking this unavailable for now. Please reenable if issue gets resolved.

I went about 10km south to the Waterfoul Lakes Campground.

Still perfect for a night's stop. Gravel car park; arguably best camping views in Banff. Nice staff and good clean services; plenty of space and well stocked Store.

Super friendly staff and an amazing free place to stay! (Superb views)
All you have to do is check in with the office.
FYI-We did gas up there and it was crazy expensive.

Nothing else to say. Just check-in for free and enjoy the spot!

As described. A place full of services (gas, free air, free water, a grocery, a restaurant and a pub). Just ask the motel office for park for the night. Friendly staff around here. Thanks a lot Saskatchewan River Crossing !

Report Check-In

We pulled in at around 11pm and were still able to check in at the front desk. They didn’t mention when we needed to clear out by, and we stayed until ~1pm the next day with no issue.

Stayed 2 separate nights driving between Banff/Jasper, good easy place to stay. Great place for one night at a time. Nice to have the store and restaurant just across the parking lot, and the views are great. Have to be out by 9am as tour busses use the lot to turn around.

This place is great, so nice that they let you stay for free!!! Check in at motel office and give your license plate info. I actually liked the vibe in the gift shop / restaurant for some reason. And there are toilets with running water in there. Wake up with a nice view of the mountains, what more can you ask for?!

Report Check-In

Very nice, 2 big Rigs and another car on a wednesday, enough space. We got an Information sheet when we checked in that says you could also do laundry here. I've attached a photo. We tried the dinner buffet which is 34,95 (without taxes) each adult and has 4 fish/meat varieties, 4 vegetables, big salad bar and deserts. Everything we tried (so everything) was good. Breakfast buffet is 25,95 pP, but we didn't try.
Didn't see the bear.

Second time staying here. Really friendly staff and a beautiful location in the mountains. There’s even a bear who often visits called Dennis! Second time we’ve stayed here and have seen him multiple times on each stay. Please keep it clean and be respectful as this is a fantastic free spot ☺️

Stayed overnight for one night on my way to Calgary. I didn’t check in with anyone. Gorgeous scenery. Peaceful sleep in my RAV4. Left early the next morning and a handful more vehicles had also stayed overnight.

Yup, still good. Just check in at the desk and you can park up for free. The restaurant does OK food. The shop is mostly souvenirs but has a few basic supplies.
