This was a peaceful place to stay and Alma was such a wonderful and helpful host. This place is fully fenced and gated so you'll need to contact her ahead of time so she can open the gate for you. Very responsive on WhatsApp and speaks perfect English. The road to get here is a little steep and slow-going cobblestone but no problems. Super hot showers, laundry machine and clothes lines. We stayed in the dry camping area but they are constantly improving the grounds and these spots will likely have full hookups in the future. Would happily stay again

If you are visiting the Chapala lake and want to stay awhile. This is a perfect campground to visit. Very different from the typical campgrounds. It is situated up towards the mountains overlooking Guadalajara. Some of the spaces have concrete pads. The sites generally are level. Many of the campers are permanent but keep their sites orderly and respectful. The showers are super clean, with plenty of hot water. The campground offers two community centers. They also have free laundry machines!!!!

We drove there and found ourselves in front of a closed door. You should probably register in advance. But that's not the purpose of an RV park. There was also no sign with a phone number on the door. We moved on disappointed.

Condujimos hasta allí y nos encontramos frente a una puerta cerrada. Probablemente deberías registrarte con antelación. Pero ese no es el propósito de un parque de casas rodantes. Tampoco había ningún cartel con un número de teléfono en la puerta. Seguimos adelante decepcionados.

Very warm welcome, super spacious, absolutely fantastic view over Guadalajara and nice, clean bathrooms. Highly recommended!

Lovely and fairly spacious. Great people. Alma * her brother own this but, Linda & Pete are on the premises to help in all matters. very kind & welcoming. It can get a bit hot in May. But, cools down with June summer rains. Many of the full timers from Canada gone for part of season. Rigs still here. Clean facilities with laundry & hot showers. Good location to visit Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Chapala & Ajijic.

Report Check-In

Quiet and clean place, very clean bathrooms, very hot showers. There are a lot of long term campers, but they are building some new places. Dry camping 200 pesos per car (2 people), with electricity 300. Fast Wifi.

Report Check-In

If you’re not booking this way in advance, from our experience this is not a place for overlanders but for permanent snowbirds. There are only 12 spots and when we rocked up all were taken until March…bad road up for big rigs as well. Don’t bother

Very nice campground, full hook-up. quiet, with electricity and clean hot showers. For the entrance road you better take the main road to Chapala and in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos take the road to the campground it's 2 only km from the main road, it is a bit steep but the other one is a disaster. Report Check-In

Stayed ten days, left the RV for three days to go to Guadalajara. Friendly & safe park, gated, with clean bathrooms & hot water. Pastoral noise was not a problem. Neighboring town of Ixtlahuaticán is clean and neat. Alma is a sweetheart.

A wonderful place! The view upon the vast landscape of Guadalajara and its surroundings is breathtaking! There is a good average WiFi, so perfect for surfing on the web. There is one washing machine, and the sanitary are really clean. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, and also speak English very well. We highly recommend it!

I agree with the positive comments left by others so won't repeat them. I have good WIFI and use it a lot. No dogs barking last night. Yes, there is a road next to the campsite, and it was quiet at night, a few trucks during the day. Great for adults who enjoy birds, walks, an awesome view. Nothing for kids, which suits us. The only negative for me was that a Class 1 was parked across 1/2 of what would have been our view. The owners are lovely, accommodating and ask how they can improve. I would return here anytime we are in the area.

This camp has many pluses but also some drawbacks.
PLUS: The bano is lovely. Hot water on demand and clean. Also a washer. However, if the resident RVers weren't there to fix it you will not get a hot shower consistently. The unit did fail a couple of times.

Safe. We left stuff in our camp and when we went away it was still there. We did lock stuff up when we left for longer periods of time.

Great view of the smog in Guadalajara. However, on clearer days [it is always smoggy] it was amazing.

Nice long walking trails around.

Alma and Francisco are very nice but do not live on site. Alma speaks very good English.

Negative:
Dogs bark most if not all night. There is a house next door that has two huge germen shepherds and they pretty much never stop barking at night.

During the day big dump trucks plow by and Jake brake all the way down the hill. There is a lot of traffic during the day and less at night. It is the shortcut to Ataqueza from Ixtlahucan.

Sites have no privacy.

Constant fires from the locals.

The internet is awful. Slow to non existent. There may have been one camper who used all the bandwidth. When they were gone for the day, the internet worked better but not consistently.

Electricity is expensive. A buck US/day if you go the monthly rate.

Not sure what happened but if you don't have a surge protector on your rig you will blow out something, maybe your fridge. Our battery charger got fried.

There are some “Advento” centers nearby with very loud music from time to time. It ain't just the weekends. One place above us started the music at 10 PM and never stopped way into the next day.

This is NOT a quiet place. However, you are in Mexico.

In short, this is a pretty good spot. There ain't a lot of choices. We did not like Roca Azul in Joco. There was absolutely no security there. The bathrooms were a million miles away from the camp area. Plus it was far from Chapala. There are very few options for campers around here.

The hosts Alma and her brother Fransisco were great hosts. The bathrooms are perfect and clean and there is a washing machine you can use. The views and breezes were lovely. No signage as yet but owners are currently getting them made. It is out of the way a bit but doable from Chapala Ajijic and Guadalajara

Lake Chapala RV Park is a great little hidden gem. It is such a wonderful place to stay I almost hate to tell anyone about it in fear I won't be able to stay there once the word gets out. This park all the modern conveniences you ever need (excellent wifi, hot showers, great water pressure, laundry, security (gated), pavilion, incredible views, easy access to food, gas, Guadalajara, Lake Chapala, and Ajijic. Everyone from the other residents and the owners made our stay a wonderful experience. We enjoyed it so much we stayed for several weeks. This will be our go to RV park on our next visit.

It’s a little difficult to find, and definitely not close to Chapala. But it’s spotlessly clean, great bathrooms and showers + HOT water.
Alma and Francisco speak English and are very helpful and accommodating.
Highly recommended.

Nice RV Park they have all services It has a lot of long term residents from mostly the US and Canada, every spot has electricity and water (some have 20, 30 or 50 AMP available). washrooms & showers. They have about 3 WiFi connections so you just have to choose the one that suits your location best We payed 1,400 pesos for one week.

Report Check-In

This is not a campground! It is only where you can store your RV for minimum 50 days. We have just been at the place and talked to the them.

Report Check-In

We messaged them and they responded saying they had no spaces available. Quoted prices were $250 pesos per night with 30A plugins and all the services. Sounds like it’s more geared towards snowbirds and retirees.
