Something not right?

Description

Tiny private bay, camping on the beach, hot showers, cold beer, wifi, clean toilets. No restuarant. Note this NOT the defunct Porto Sanfrancisco. That is nearby but a different place. Very friendly owner speaks good English. Fishing by arrangement. Recommended.

Great small cove that isn’t too windy, the drive here is 150km on a dirt road and requires high clearance but is fairly maintained. Beto, the owner of this place speaks perfect English and is a great guy. He asked for 20$ usd per person and we settled for 15$. A bit expensive but it was a great place to stay for 2 days.

We were here on 11/15/22. Awesome, beautiful place. This place is so out of the way, there are not even dogs here! :) We were here by ourselves, very secluded. Clean flush toilets, hot showers, very nice host. We paid 15.00 a person (USD). Depending on timing, it could be a bit more. We did not have a ZERO day here; my only regret.

“Beto” has ice, beer, fuel and mechanical experience and while it’s not cheap it’s nice to have when this far out. The road from BoLA is in 4x4 only shape right now.

Arrived later than anticipated. It's a long slow road to get here. Owner wanted US$25 per person to park in his yard, and have access to showers and toilets. He eventually came down to $20 per person but could not guarantee hot water for the showers. As I am self sufficient I went to Punta Bellena Beach instead. Much nicer setting and better views.

Alberto is the owner here for over 40 years. Prior to it's current use it was his commercial fishing operation with dozens of boats.

Yes, he charges $20pp to stay at his HOME and I found it well worth it. First, everything is kept clean. He cleans the beach of trash that constantly blows in. The showers and toilets are spotless. With 2-ply toilet paper! He has to get water, which is his biggest expense, from 15 miles away. All other supplies are a two day trip for him. I'm happy to pay for amenities like this way out in the remote wild. And it IS remote.

The beach and little bay are beautiful. If you go into the water be aware of sting rays and slide your feet. I fished off the dock and caught a small halibut. I saw callibra but couldn't catch them.

Kayak, take a hike out to the lighthouse, watch the many seabirds, and best of all have a conversation with Alberto. He is a fountain of knowledge of the area and history and is the last person to look after this place and keep it nice. Nothing lasts forever out here.

Since you are using this app to scout places to stay, you already know the price being charged. It makes no sense to travel all the way out here and then complain about it.

Nice place. We had the place to ourselves. $20 usd per person for safe camping and super hot showers. It rained all night and in the morning we used the porch of one of there out buildings the cook breakfast. Wifi is extra money. We only stayed the one night.

Nice cove but extremely windy when we visited. Camping did not seem that appealing especially for $15usd per person. No access to alternative beaches or the San Francisquito airstrip or beach. Unless you are willing to pay the price to camp I’d avoid this area. We ended up having a great camping experience at Rancho Piedra Blanca.

After a long ride we pulled in at the end of the day, told it was $15usd pp to tent camp - seemed pretty steep, so we chatted to the guy for awhile, who told us you could camp right on the beach in San Fransisquito, was very nice there etc gave us directions just past his place. We took the deep sand road down only to find it padlocked shut about 400m past his place - he must have known! Huge mission to turn the bikes around again, so we definitely wouldn’t come back here again. Found a quiet pull out on the side of the road for the night for free

Nice little place. Gentleman checking us in was very nice and informative.

Went here and were told it is $15 usd per person per night. Pretty ridiculous- especially because there was no one else here and it didn’t look particularly nice. We did not stay. The person we spoke with didn’t speak much English.
