Shoulder of road in business park. Road is only 35mph so not too loud and very sparingly used at night. A few other rvs parked on shoulder. Stayed last night and moved down the road for tonight. 5mins from the monterey fairgrounds/event center. Planes can be heard but arent obnoxious.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Lots of fast traffic on this road that will shake your RV as they drive by since you are parked right next to the road. Didn’t have the best of sleep due to that. Bit otherwise ok and one of the few places Rvs will park at night in RV unfriendly Monterey. (There is a fine for sleeping in your RV at night in Monterey). Cell reception was moderately good.
Report Check-InDid the trick. Pulled in 9pm and there were a few vans / rvs already there. Slept good and left early.
Report Check-InGood location. The road is very quiet at night, the activity resumes around 5 - 6am.
Report Check-InExcellent place. It's a long stretch of road where we saw several over nighters. We pulled up where there were two police cars and they came out of a fitness center that is fenced off, they saw us and waved so if it wasn't legal I'm sure they would have said something.
Report Check-InStayed the night here. Lots of other campers & cars. Even a big rig was parked for the night. The street is slightly sloped as you go father down, so parking closer to the top gets you more level. There wasn’t much plane noise for being near the small airport but cars do go flying down the street. Not a lot of traffic, but enough to shake our sprinter van as they passed. Otherwise, nice spot and safe.
Report Check-InStayed one night here with our 29 ft RV. A lot of places, wide Road. Few cars, vans and rv along the road. Nice night. Few trafic in the morning.
Report Check-InThis was a good, quiet spot for the night. we came in after 10pm and there were a couple other campers and RVs parked on either side. Good cell service for Verizon and Tmobile. No noise until about 8am.
Report Check-InPlenty of parking and quiet all night. Easy access and about 12 minutes to downtown Monterey
Report Check-Instayed two separate nights. local RVs seem to be more semi-permanent. great spot to crash for the night and not be bothered! as stated, not a lot of foot or car traffic, and it's usually slower.
Report Check-InI was definitely concerned with this place at first, as I was driving up and there were no other cars on the street. right around the small garden court pull off I saw 1, 3, then 10+ car campers/RVs in this area. the southern side of the street has some more greenery on it. so far so good!
Report Check-InWhen I heard that there were other campers there , I thought “oh good I won’t be alone.“ But when I saw the kind of campers that were there, I got a little nervous. I thought it was probably like a homeless situation and being by myself I was scared. But then the next morning when I got up most of the campers were gone. I realized I had just judged my peers by the appearance of their camper. This street was kind of busy and I heard car noise all night. I didn’t hear any airplanes.
