beautiful road with ostriches and springboks. 4x4 necessary. 1h to arrive to messum crater, following the tracks.

Route is heavily corrugated as reported. Had to use the side tracks for 80% of the distance. The whole distance took me approximately one full day of driving, but was absolutely worth it.

The road is beautiful but sometimes a little bit hard. you must have a 4x4.

The route from cape cross to messum crater is shocking. The road is very very badly corrugated and many side roads have been made to avoid the corrugation. Hold onto you teeth because the road will rattle them out

This is the junction to Messum Crater it is not signposted but will bring you to the North East edge of the Crater.
