More lights and mining noise than last visit but still a decent place to pull in and rest. Hoping to see paragliders and hang gliders in the morning.

Report Check-In

Not a bad spot to pull in, enjoy watching paragliders and hang gliders, and have a bathroom close to your camp spot. The camping area is simply just a dirt parking area, but there are benches nearby that you can sit and enjoy the view.

Awesome night skyline view of Salt Lake City

Report Check-In

Great place to spend the night. Surprising amount of traffic all night long.

Report Check-In

Great place to overnight. not clear if it's a 2 night or 14 night limit.

Report Check-In

Bummer that this place is no longer free. It used to be a great option while in town.

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

$15 no longer free, slip to fill out also says 2 nights max

Report Check-In

It is now $15 a night! FYI!!!
They are planning on making upgrades and putting in actual campsites. There is two pit toilets.

Report Check-In

Starting 10-03-2020 there is a $15 per night charge. There is still a 14 night limit.

Report Check-In

Stayed here again for two nights and it’s even better in the summer! So many van/RV/tents. Some people look like they’ve been here longer than the limit of 14 days, but there’s plenty of spots for everyone. Cell service on ATT is spotty, but free entertainment with the parasailed. Pit toilets are the only amenity.

Report Check-In

Great option for a night or a few days. Everybody was very nice and it was cool to watch the kites and paragliding. Dusty but dark and quiet.

Report Check-In

***Don’t park at the bottom.*** By people parking down here, it may jeopardize the closure of this site. The locals have already fought hard to keep this open.
Park at the top where you’re out of the view from the houses.

Report Check-In

Really nice spot to park. Amazing night views. Pit toilet & phone service. Super windy!

Report Check-In

It’s not free. $15/night now implemented because of overstayers from this site.

Report Check-In

A great place to stay. Paved road. Pit toilet. PARAGLIDING PARADISE. Fun to watch. Berm helps with wind.

Report Check-In

As described previously. Still open. Road was a bit rough but there were many different types of rigs so I assume anything can make it.

Report Check-In

Good overnight camp spot. Lots of other campers. A few generators ran all night. Toilets reasonably clean. Watched the paragliders in the morning.

Report Check-In

Stayed couple of nights already. Very practical spot to stay if visiting the city. Not too far, toilets, wifi. Cool temperatures with the breeze. A lot of people seem to camp here, so meeting people is possible. Perfect spot to spend the evening & night.

Report Check-In

Great view of stars. Peaceful, breeze in morning helps to ease the heat. Arrived at 11pm left at 11am.

Park on North side to avoid noise on the am.

great fire works on the 4. paraglider a great to watch. great site

Drive up the hill to get to the camping area. If there's not a storm coming in then the wind is fine. The view is great! especially watching the paragliders in the morning. If you want to take a ride on one ask for Chris Santacroce. He's the best!!! My family loved it, even the kids! We'll definitely be back! Don't park at the end of the road. Park closest to the bern at the beginning or middle of the road. Paragliders get dropped off in the early morning at the end and they are loud.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to sleep in a tornado?? Here’s your opportunity.

ATTN: As of 3/28/20 the flight park's website says it will only be open to Utah County residents due to Covid-19. We had no idea and arrived 3/28.There was no sign in the parking lot mentioning this. No one questioned us so we still stayed and left early. We saw other rigs with out-of-state plates so I don't know when/if/how they will start enforcing it.

Other than that it was a nice place to stay the night with beautiful views, bathrooms, and free wifi.

Report Check-In

Great place for a night. The wifi isn't very stable, but there is wifi.

No fliers, and it's the weekend - maybe too cold. Near 0°C at night.

NPR at 90.1.

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot! Great view of the city and fun watching the paragliders.Free Wifi is a really nice addition.

Report Check-In

Definently a place to be considered if you are in SLC area. there is not much free camping available and this is a great spot with tons of space.

Report Check-In

This is an active paragliding and hang gliding flight park, please be respectful to the pilots and students present. WiFi and bathrooms are maintained by local pilots so please use responsively and *LEAVE NO TRACE*

There is a Maverick fuel station with dumpster, water, ice, and supplies only a mile away.

Site is located on a geographical fin that sticks into the valley - separating Provo from SLC - meaning it gets 2 to 4 Xs as windy than in the valley and cold.

We camped there for 7 days with 35 gusting to 48mph and subfreezing temperatures most nights in early October.

The paragliders are very friendly and offer tandem paragliding flights if you are interested in trying it out! Contact SuperFly paragliding or Cloud9 paragliding for more info. This is one of the busiest and best locations to learn to paragliding in the nation!!

Enjoy and please LNT and be respectful

plenty of places to park!

Pretty nice spot on top of mountain. About 25 other campers and cars here, lots of room for everyone.

Report Check-In

Absolutely amazing spot. Great view. So much space. And there is wifi. But it was windy and 2 degrees at night in September. Oh well still a great quiet spot.

Report Check-In

this is an awesome spot, I stayed here for 2 days while in the SLC area. has pit toilets and for whatever reason free wifi!! you can stay up to 14 days. it's really cool to watch the paragliders. there's a great view of the nearby mountains and the city and lake down below. the people who were up there while I was there were very friendly. had full cell service on tmobile. would definitely stay here again!

Report Check-In

Perfect spot, has everything you need and entertainment in the morning. Park on the right side away from the cliff, the cliff side is where the paragliders park and unload.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay. Wifi was spotty both nights we stayed. can get very windy

Report Check-In

Stopped here as we passed through town late. Really nice spot with plenty of room. We woke up to paragliders and a beautiful view of the city.

Report Check-In

As described, lots of room. WiFi has great service

Report Check-In

Exactly as described. We stayed here one night, at least 9 other campers here but more than enough space for everyone. Perfect place to wildcamp south of Salt Lake. Would definitely camp here again when passing Salt Lake.

Report Check-In

Great place to free camp! You can watch the paragliders go off the hill all day too. The toilets were dirty and they don’t lock but other than that it was quiet and there’s plenty of space for all kinds of rigs. Just windy because it’s on the top of a hill. Nice views of the city/mountains too.

Report Check-In

Amazing place !
Stunning view and sunset.
Plenty of rooms.
Wifi and toilets available.
Would definitely recommend that stop
