Description

A very kind little family runs a little well kept campground at the water and does bio-luminescence tours in the evenings ( which is totally worth it. think 'The protonos charm' from Harry Potter and you'll get an idea). If you do the tour the camping is 'free' otherwise 100 ppv or something like that.

There is actually a parking lot here for all the buses, vans, motorboats that bring tourists on a river tour. You won't have peace until midnight, if they leave even then. My wife charged me 200 mxp for the tour and 100 mxp for camping, and then they took another 200 mxp for the private tour. I don't recommend it at all.

Report Check-In

I do not recommend this place. The worst, they have billed me 130 MXP for the camp even though I contracted the tour. Tour has charged 200 mxp. The tour does not wake that money as you do not see anything. Then she had to wait until 12 h at night that all buses with tourists who parked here were going. The place is not for camping and the tour does not wake so much money. All the photos you see on the tripadvisor are photoshoped.

Very nice lagoon and lovely food but we were told its not safe for so if you are coming with kids I would camp somewhere else. Otherwise its a very nice spot.

Très jolie place au bord de la lagune, tout est super propre, Arturo est adorable et que dire de la balade de nuit sur la lagune et de l'expérience de la bioluminescence, à faire absolument !!! On reviendra avec plaisir

Very nice place on the edge of the lagoon, everything is super clean, Arturo is adorable and what about the night walk on the lagoon and the bioluminescence experience, a must do!!! We will come back with pleasure

Really calm and lovely spot. The Family is really lovely and helpful. Spend a really peaceful night there and wake up with Bird sounds and a cool breeze…

We where not really impressed with the stay here, the family is nice for sure. But apart of that 250 Pesos is too much for what they offer, toilets without the seat, shower is fine. Beer price 35 Pesos, meals around 250 Pesos.

We loved our stay here. The family is super friendly and we talked a lot with Arturo. He's very patient with our so-so Spanish and we loved to learn a bit more about their life. He showed us around his garden and shared fresh mango and banana with us. We could even taste a chicatana ant, as they were harvested just a week ago. Interesting flavour for sure! Sadly, we couldn't do the bioluminescence tour. It had rained too much (hurricane Agatha) and there was too much fresh water in the lagoon. So, if you want to go here for a bioluminescence tour, go in the dry season.

Very nice people! We paid 250 pesos per car to camp plus 200 pesos per person for the bioluminesence tour.
If its a bright night, as we had, you will need to get in the water and into the floating tent in order to see the sparkling lights. It was a special experience although not as we have imagined after seeing pics of beaches covered in blue lights of the maledives. The lights are more white and sparkly here and you need to move inside the water in order to see them.

We tried to stay here, It looks fantastic, right in the edge of the lake. However, the raised entrance road is narrow and raised up from the ground by about a meter. we are a big truck and it's soft verges created too much risk for me. If you are a big truck , like us , I suggest you park outside and walk in first to assess the access roads. smaller vehicles under 5 ton will have no issues and it looks fantastic. we ended up parking next door .

It’s a comfortable and safe place to rest, run by an enterprising family that seeks to promote ecotourism in the area. They’re people who care so much about the tourist that they make you feel at home.

At the moment, they only have space to camp and park RVs at a cost of $200 MXN per night.

They have shower service and clean toilets. The food they prepare is fresh because it’s made with the catch of the day and with a delicious seasoning, all at an affordable cost. Don't forget to bring marshmallows to enjoy the bonfire.

Contact Arturo (phone number 954 208 7104) and don't forget to bring your swimsuit because you can rent a kayak for $300 MXN to enjoy the lagoon, or take the bioluminescence tour for $200 MXN.

Found this place after asking next door for camping, but they didn't have enough room. This place has a nice lakefront and grassy area. We could move the cars there after all other guests left, otherwise the parking lot is grassy and nice as well. They were very accommodating and friendly and with the 3 of us all doing a bioluminescence tour (200 pesos / person, about 1 hour) we quickly agreed to 100 pesos per car for camping (they asked for 200 at first). The place has kayaks and stand up paddle boards for rent (didn't ask for prices) and a nice seating area at the lake and a small restaurant. Showers and toilets are available and function pretty well. Can recommend the tour, but don't look at the water quality of the lake before dark ;-) There is a reason they highlight the availability of showers. The place is super quiet and nice in the morning and it was fun to watch the chickens and turkeys on the property.

Nice place to stay at the lagoon, beautiful sunset. Price for campervan including people is 200 per night. Boattrip to bioluminiscence is 200 per person. Really worth it. In bright nights with moon they have a floating tent in which you can swim and enjoy the lights. Best months are May to January.

well It's a nice place on the border of the lake on green grass.
good for one night.
the luminescent tour is 200 pesos per person (same price for kids) they don't always tell you but take a swimming suit to do the luminescent tour! if the weather is cloudy or if the moon is small you'll see better this phenomenon (if not, they have floating houses to swim in the dark to see it better)
We payed 200 pesos to sleep there (4 persons with a big camper)
