parked here for 2 nights for two nights during day and night. camped out in my car. No problems at all. there is a street watch guy by the name of Joe that guides locals in parking car. He speaks good English. I gave him 20 pesos a day to keep an eye. he did a good job. I was parked just very close to the shop. Lifted my RTT and went to sleep. Even took shower at night in my shower cube. If you have some walking disability, hike from town uo to the monument can be a problem. Highly recommend the site.

Follow the other warnings here. My US license plate was torn off my bumper and stolen here.

I stayed here 2 nights and it was quite and safe, no one bothered, police passed by and did not say anything. Neighbors are good people and the view of the city is fantastic.

Amazing panoramic overlook of Guanajuato.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night a little farther down the road, towards the city. About 200m, there’s a pull out with a nice view of the city. Suitable for Van size vehicles. Slept well, as it gets super quiet.

Stayed here on a Friday- obviously a little loud. Huge concert in the town. BEAUTIFUL view. Spent the evening taking in the city from above in our home. Love Guanajuato!

We arrived at this spot around 9pm. To make sure it was safe we asked some local vendors. They said it was really ok. They advised us to park close to the statue. There are multiple police surveillance cameras on the left hand side of the statue when looking to town. You want to park close to them. We
stayed 3 nights with our sprinter van. No problems. Good spot. We left the van here during the day.

DO NOT PARK MORE THAN 100M WEST OF THE MONUMENT.
Our car got robbed!
We spoke afterwards with locals and even they do not park there. That's the reason why there is always free parking space.

Nice spot with excellent view of the city. A little loud but great for a few nights, and busy during the day but settles down after all the tourists leave. We made it up there with a full size pickup and truck camper not problem, they drive large beer trucks and busses up there. The spot under the tree is good for a vehicle less than 20 ft. in length but there a other spots that can accommodate larger vehicles. Not sure what is up with the "no big rigs" thing, I have noticed that indicated by a few people who drive micro Japaneses vans, who likely don't have experience driving larger vehicles. The review by poster Averageman123 and his check ins 9/10 times says "no big rigs". Big rigs is somewhat subjective and when you drive a micro van everything is a "big rig". Like we said, no problems getting here or the other popular spot El Morril.

Free, safe and quiet place. It's very crowded before the sunset and the street is not large, but after it's easy to find a place ! Some guides helped us to find a place and to park.

perfect spot, almost flat, with a wonderful view. To visit the city just take the stairs, not so long, that you can find where the pipltla monument is. Saturday and sunday very busy. come late in the afternoof to find place. everybody is leaving at about 7 o clock pm.

We can up here and parked for two nights now - no problem! Stairs to the city - bathrooms near the statue for 3 pesos but they close at night. If you don't want to walk there is a funacular that costs 25pesos one way to ride - you can walk down and ride it back up!

This street gets crowded, come early morning or in the evening. If you score the spot in the bay it's perfect! There are bathrooms around the statue, hiking up and down to town is not that bad. Some dogs were barking in the night, but otherwise manageable level of noise. Awesome view. Good base to explore the town. Driving and parking in downtown is terrible, it should be all pedestrian zone...

Perfect place. Amazing views and it's so near to the cable car that takes you directly to downtown. Of course you can also use the stairs. We asked a tourist guide if it's a safe place to park and also to spend the night and he said it's a totally safe place. We stayed here one night and It was perfect.

Streetside parking bay with great views over town. Was all full and overcrowded when I arrived, no space. Doesn't look like a safe place to leave the car alone.
