we spent one night there, it's very quiet indeed.
BUT it is not allowed to sleep there as it's part of the national park (as shown by the signs). early morning park staff (very friendly) came to inform us that we were not permitted to camp here. we had to report to their office and got a proper "warning", but they didn't fine us (the fine is 1000R).
stayed here 3 quiet nights. Guard didn’t say anything. One morning we saw the police parking at the guards house, so they definitely saw us but didn’t do anything
Report Check-InPolice picked us up in the evening. It is not allowed to stay here. We could park at the police. As it was already dark, we did it.
Report Check-InStayed here for 4 nights and parked a bit behind a small tree (still visible though) but nobody bothered us. There are a few cars during the night (I think fishermen) but other than that it was quiet. Didn't see or hear hippos but always be careful! there are public toilets and changing rooms, unfortunately no showers as the beach is not for swimming, but there are outdoor beach showers at the other beach. Beautiful beach for walks etc.
