Wild campsite backed up against a sandstone cliff. River is 100-200 yds away. I stayed 1 night. Had a small fire. Had one visit by a local who was interested in the campfire. Very interesting markings on the sandstone.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I walked the path going to this location. Warning! Soft ground after rain. Deep ruts. High clearance with a locker 2WD or 4WD recommended.
Report Check-InThe turn around is perfect for an overnight in our travel trailer! It's hard packed getting here and the turnaround is flat. It's so quiet and peaceful. Gorgeous!
Report Check-InNice little spot open area if you want 2 to 3 bars for cell signal. VERY VERY windy we didn't end up staying due to the wind.
Report Check-InGood spot since Lyman rest area doesn’t allow overnight. Not great LTE service but still usable
Report Check-InBig clearing with level places to park. Didn’t hear highway at all while sleeping. Our dog found lots of great bones. Beautiful spot.
Report Check-InA perfect road travel pitstop. Wouldn’t necessarily want to camp here long term but great for an overnight. Right off the highway which makes it easy
Report Check-InClose to highway for a quick overnight sleep. Wouldn’t want to really camp here long term but a perfect road travel pitstop
Report Check-InLike other reviews said, dirt road too rutted to make it to the better campsites at this spot. Ended up parking near the road and creek for the night. Plenty of waves and a honk from the locals as they passed on the road but they seemed more friendly than bothered. 1 bar of ATT. Probably could've bathed in the creek but it was a bit too cold in the morning for my taste.
Report Check-InThis place is as everybody else has described, distant road noise from I-80, slow cell service (2 bars AT&T), very little traffic on the road and bridge, nobody except me camping here, stayed one night.
Report Check-InWashboard road. Dirt road a little rutted, opted to camp in turnaround. Quiet and beautiful sunset.
Report Check-InCouldn’t find a good level spot so didn’t camp. I’m guessing you turn right before the bridge
Report Check-InAwesome! Get there early and find the best spot. No one around. Bathe in the river. Stunning scenery great cycling.
Report Check-InGreat place to throw your seat back and some vital Zzzzzzzs. Nice and quiet.
Report Check-InArrived late. Very little road noise.
Next morning discovered that I'd parked near the "bathrooms". Disgusting.
Not a sound heard!
This was a great place. Stayed here for one night with no one around. Was able to let the dogs off leashes and roam. River nearby. Night time was beautiful. We just couldn’t believe how quiet it was. We didn’t even hear any crickets. The only downfall was a dumped sofa chair. Dumped trash makes me so 🤬.
Decent spot to stop when you passing through on the 80. We pulled in after dark, there is some dumped trash around. Little road noise. if it had been earlier we would have gone a bit deeper, it seems like a promising area. Lots of large deer in camp when we arrived
Report Check-InThere currently working on the bridge and it appears blocked for for now?
Report Check-InNot bad a bad place to catch some zzzs. couldn't make it all the way back because there was too much mud. stayed at the turnaround next to the bridge.
Report Check-InStayed one night on a trip from Colorado to California. Quiet, wild camp area. Interesting sandstone markings on the cliff.
