Latest Check-Ins

get the best route for these parts at Ghoha Gate. in April 23 there was no water, roads were a bit sandy but 1.5 bar is definitely enough to not get stuck. Sandridge Rd is very bumpy and annoying, tke the Marsh Rd instead if its not too wet

Report Check-In

The road from Savuti to Goha Gate is soft sand, very deep and bumpy. You neues low gear one, two, three, four.
tirepresure 1,2/1,4. You need 60 to 90 minutes.

Report Check-In

We passed this road after a heavy shower (90mm) the night before. More water than Sand ;-) The airport road was totally flooded, so we took the other one to Savuti. From there to Mababe lots of water as well. We made it by driving L4 slowly around the edges of waterpits. We drove a standard rented Hilux.

Report Check-In

Road between Mababe and Goha Gates is sandy in most and very bumpy in large parts. The latter being the result of people bobbing through with incorrect tire pressures. Expect to drive at least 5h from gate to gate (without any breaks or stopping for wildlife).
Please, save yourself the digging, us the whining and all future travelers increased track damage and take below advice and reduce your tire pressure!! 1.5 bar is a good starting point. The sand is not Sahara soft. We didn't have any issues or wheel spin coming up the steep banks of the Savuzi Channel with 1.8/1.5 bars (rear/front) in our Land Cruiser.
That being said, enjoy Chobe! We saw a pride of 8 lions chilling right by the track.

Report Check-In

The road from Savuti to Ghoha Gate is challenging. 4x4 is essential. Reduce tire pressure to 1.5bar and then get ready for some bumps. Abundant wildlife viewing will reduce your ETA🤣 enjoy, Botswana at its best!
