Description

Right behind the Seattle Times. About 10 spots of unrestricted parking. If no one is there then you can’t tell that parking is allowed but it actually is (makes it so you can usually get a spot, even during the day).

I’ve parked here numerous times for a couple days in a row. Quiet enough at night, but don’t sleep in cause it’ll get loud.

take parking slots on the side of the Streit with old bulding

There is wifi here (I wouldn’t depend on it) that you are able to use just called “guest” with no password.

This was truly the worst parking spot I’ve ever parked in!

To start, the secret is out about this entire street of free parking. Not only are there about six vans parked here, but regular cars from the surrounding area troll the street looking for spots because they’re free with no time limit while one block over you have to pay. I came in on a Friday night at about 5:30pm when it was already pitch black out and all the spots were full. I circled the block three times and a car pulled out so I grabbed the spot. So be patient while trying to find a spot here, one will open up.

The street itself is absolutely disgusting with trash, puke, feces and abandoned homeless encampments. But there’s a Whole Foods Market on the corner so the area itself is a nice/safe area, just not this street.

Constant cars driving the street all night, a trolley goes by until about 10pm sounding it’s bell. At 2am two trucks with about 8 drunken idiots park next to me and of course I wake up and listen for the shaking of spray paint cans, thinking they’re gonna tag my van. Nope, just drunk idiots who puked on my tires. Sounds like there’s an after-hours night club somewhere around as the music was insanely loud and went till about 5am. The group that came in the trucks left at 4am but decided to have a drunken drag race down the street first.

I parked in NYC, Miami, DC, Philly, LA, Denver and Many other big cities and none where like this. Maybe you’ll have luck with it when you come here but I’d try someplace else first if you actually want a good nights sleep!

parked here for a couple hours during the day. plenty of spots along the street. it gets sketchier as you drive further down the street but there are a lot of spots. no parking limit and free. afternoon sun charged up the battery a fair amount.

i was going to comment and say this was a great spot to stay last night until I woke up and there was a huge piece of graffiti down the side of my van. Cant believe they did that with me sleeping in it.

Crazy. I get it’s downtown seattle so I guess I’m not surprised.

Just be weary if you park here. Maybe throw up some magnet motion sensor lights? That’s probably what I will do if I park somewhere sketchy again.

Didn’t even notice until I drove to the next place since I just hopped in the drivers seat and took off.

Nothing a couple hours with graffiti remover and some windex didn’t fix for the most part. Definitely gonna need to redo the clear coat most likely. Good thing I was planning on painting it soon anyways

Not a bad place close to everything ya need. Definitely trash everywhere but doesnt feel unsafe people were walking by late and early. Other than a guy parking next to me at 6 am with a super loud truck and leaving it run it was pretty quiet for the city. Lots of spots but seems to stay pretty full while I was here.

10/10 location. FREE. The second time I’ve stayed here on seperate trips. So close to the action- so most things are walkable! Lots of other vans, I felt safe! Left the van parked there during the day while I waking around and had no issues. Was disappointed by the amount of trash but just remember to clean up after yourself!!

As mentioned previously good spot close a number of Seattle sights and free. We stayed further down street by old warehouses.

Truly great spot for day or nite. Been here all day and all nite haven’t had an issue. Plenty of cars. Not as loud as some say mostly ppl walking by. The parking goes on for a few blocks on this side and it’s free. Highly recommend. Close to everything too.

Report Check-In

I stayed further down the road than the coordinates behind an abandoned warehouse. As a solo woman, I felt completely safe here. I stayed two nights and left my van during the day the second day to explore the city

Report Check-In

Very nice. the area marked is very full on a Wednesday evening 8:00 p.m., but further north a block, just past John Street is darker and quieter, with a vertical pull-offs from the road. pretty darn secluded for center of downtown! <;~]

backstreet of the Seattle times, best buy and Verizon loading zones. looks like it's only workers parking but there's other vans here. stayed for one night with no problems. parked all day. walking distance to pike place and event venues

Report Check-In

Walking distance to space needle! A bunch of spots, pretty well lit! A lot of other camper vans! Arrived around 10 pm and there weren’t any spots, waited a few minutes for a car to leave and snuck in! Would even be good to just park for free and check out the city. Woke up at like 6 because there was some construction/ cars etc., but HEY!! You get what you pay for!

Report Check-In

I stayed here for overnight, it was good to sleep, no complaints, In the morning went to space needle.
got back at 5 p.m.
no ticket on car.
it seems to be q perfect parking slot for free middle in Seattle.
unbelievable.
but there are enough parking possibilities for 7-10 bucks for a day around.
for 20 bucks a day on every corner.

Good spot to get around downtown! We stayed for 5 nights if you park further down the street it is a bit quieter.

Report Check-In

It was pretty noisy until around midnight. At 5am, there were lots of people coming and going. Probably won’t stay a second night.

Nice free spot close to everything. We also stayed 2 nights. Good sleep. Noisy until 10pm and from 6-7am. You have to be lucky (or to wait) to find room to park though, it's always full

Brilliant spot for exploring downtown Seattle. Stayed here for 2 days/nights without issues. 15 minutes walk to the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens.

Report Check-In

This place is a hidden gem. Even my Seattle friends can’t believe I found unregulated parking in the heart of the city. 20ish spots.

I kept my van here for 4 days and nights. No tickets, no towing, all was fine.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 2 nights and 2 days - sleeping in the van both times. Couldn’t believe the free parking! Great location and no trouble. District H provides toilets until 9.30 pm - the bakery also does late night buy one get one free if you fancy a treat post dinner!

Report Check-In

Nice free parking during the day. We didn't stay the night because it was very bussy at the evening and no opportunity to prepare a meal. But we parked for free the whole day.
