Description

Outstanding and Beautiful location in the middle of the subtropical forest of Intag. The campsite is surrounded by forests, rivers, waterfalls and walks. There is an area for grilling, toilets, hot showers and a kitchen/dining building. Marisol speaks spanish and english and she will welcome you with a smile and lemonade. She is very helpful if you need to organize adventures around Intag and the Santa Rosa Community since she is part of the Local Guides Association and The Women´s Santa Rosa Collective.
Camping $8/person. Camper van or RVs $10 per person.
Meals are also available upon request, $10 dinner, $7 breakfast. Finca Orgánica San Antonio is an ecotourism entrepreneurship and works with the local women to create sustainable alternatives in the Santa Rosa Community and to protect the cloudforest.
In the months of dec-jan-feb-march and april access can be challenging if you don´t have 4x4.
Call or text via whatsapp only +593 9597 63722, ahead of your visit and she will happily receive you and make a reservation for you.

Really nice place. Marisol was an excellent knowledgeable host with perfect english. We visited in early March (rainy season) 2 up on a DR650. The directions are easier than they seem. We arranged transport from the town of Santa Rosa for my wife, then I drove in our loaded bike solo from town no problem. May be too sketchy 2 up in the rainy season. Food was awesome! We stayed in the "Glamping" cabin as it was rainy and muddy. We really enjoyed our tour of the farm. Be sure to bring some rain boots if visiting in the rainy season. Marisol does a great job of explaining the ecology of the area and the sustainability of her farm. Bring some extra $$ to buy coffee and handicrafts made by the local community. We will most defiantly return! About an hour and a half from Cotocachi.

To stay at the finca San Antonio is just perfect!
Marisol, which welcomes you warmly, runs this perma-culture organic farm. So there is a lot to explore, for example one can strive trough the cloud forest along the river, visit the old and still running sugar cane factory, enjoy a delicious and healthy dinner or take part of a guided tour trough the large finca.
Marisol produces and sells honey, coffee a kind of herbs and more. At this place you will be surrounded by beautiful birds, flowers and different trees. Bye the way - it’s a perfect place also for kids.

If you plan to continue towards Mindo take the beautiful back country road. It’s definitely worth the way.

Amazing place, even better people. Loved my 4 nights here. Wish I'd stayed longer.

Beautiful quiet farms. Owners are very friendly. The road from the main road Cotacachi Apuela is unpaved but in good conditions even in December. It is a little bit tricky to get to the farm since the location usually google is not exactly marked but taking the road next to the Santa Rosa school just before the bridge coming from Cotacachi left side, around 2 km you will get there.

Came for 1-2 night, stayed 4 ... and could have stayed longer. This is a wonderful place to unwind and see a truly organic farm at work. Many tour operators call themselves "Eco", many farms claim they are "organic" but most of them don't live up to their claims by far. Keith & Marisol are living their dream of a sustainable life even if doing without fertilizers, herbicides and fungicides means smaller yield and more work. But it certainly means healthier and tastier produce. Try their delicious honey!
There were no volunteers here during our stay which made us almost feel part of the family and we enjoyed Yakina's frequent visits at our campervan. The WiFi actually reached our van and allowed us to efficiently prepare the continuation of our trip.
Thanks for having us, guys!

Great place! Keith and Marisol being wonderful hosts with their lovely little daughter Yacina. But strictly by appointment, [email protected], not exactly recommendable in the rainy season, 4x4 preferable.

Top of our list! A 380 acre organic farm and nature reserve in the cloud forest with river, waterfalls, trails and many organic items like coffee, panela, fruits and veggies (available for purchase too). Very nice owners started accepting campers only very recently. Just a 1.5 hour scenic drive west of cotacachi or otavalo. Don't take the wrong road like we did using Google...take the shorter and better road via lake cuicocha and town of Santa Rosa is 10km east of Apuela. Tip: from here one can take the mountain roads 4 hours to Mindo then to the coast or Quito without backtracking to main highway. Drive is unpaved but good and incredibly scenic dotted with one street towns. We could not believe this area is not more visited because it is just beautiful, tranquil, and locals are very nice.
$5 per person hot showers in main house, great wifi, electric available. GPS marks the access turn from main road, left of school in Santa Rosa. Drive downhill for a mile and road deadends at gate to finca. Access good for our Ford E350 Sportsmobile but giant rigs probably not good.
