Latest Check-Ins

The trout is now 30.000 COP with is still a very good price. It is delicious!!!
They charged us 40.000 COP for camping but as friends from us paid 30.000 COP just a few days ahead we negotiated it to 30.000 COP.
The upper place is fine for camping but from 12pm to 5pm other cars will be parked around you.
Very cold showers and clean bathrooms available.

Report Check-In

we used the upper place, which is flat and fine. The ladies, are very nice and helpful and the trouts are yummy.
Good place to stay and enjoy the city.

Report Check-In

Super tasted thrushes fried. Only this. Juice/ salads patacones fish and salsas para 27.000.

Report Check-In

As described. Take calle 16 to get there, calle 13, which might be shown on mapsme is very steep and narrow, also low hanging branches can be problematic for higher rigs when cars park on the road.

Report Check-In

still 15000 per person. there is an upper terrace area the is flat that could fit several vehicles if it wasn't so muddy. one spot in the corner was flat and out of the mud. this is the staging area for banana farmers up the hill and there's a ton of people coming and going at all hours up the road immediately next to where you are parked and this area isn't visible from the restaurant which made us uneasy but we stayed here for 2 nights without any incident. the restaurant only serves trout, which is delicious but no longer farmed here, for 25k for a plate. no wifi and very cold showers. good claro and dog friendly.

Report Check-In

we leave the van on the site and walk to the town is very close, an excellent site, a magnificent view, spend two good nights on the site

Report Check-In

excellent place to spend the night, Víctor knows a lot about tourism and gave us very valuable information on how to continue our trip, we slept there 3 nights and we are going back

Report Check-In

Big Rigs be aware that an overhead cable on the entrance parh is exactly 3.5m . it can be lifted slightly.

Report Check-In

Nice easy place to camp for easy access to towns and hikes. Family is very helpful

Report Check-In

Nice spot super convenient to town, quiet at night, secure. 30,000 per couple which is about $8, hard to complain about that IMO. Clean when we were there on a Monday after weekend crowds. Super friendly, flat place to park just above the main lot. Way better access to town than Isla...ten minutes walk will get you to the center. Easy hike to Cristo Rey from here. Main road up, left at fork to descend to bridge, stay left then up cobblestone to farm yard. Through the gate the stone path continues, stay on main path until it tops out at the dirt road then left. 30 min max.

Report Check-In

Nice but simple place. We slept on a roofed terrace close to the trout ponds, where the water is running all the time (a bit noisy, but we slept well). Bathroom is not really clean. The family is friendly though. All in all not worth the 15.000 p.P. but an option for one night.

Report Check-In

Kind of ok if you like being close to town. Fits two smaller rigs, 3 if you want to be cramped together. Toilets and cold shower a bit spartan. Definitely seen better for the price. 15k p.p.p.n, inc WiFi and use of kitchen for washing up. Very friendly owners. Would recommend La Isla which is 10min out of town (See IO post).

Report Check-In

Only stay here if you need to be able to walk to town. Hostal Cabana La Isla is muuuuch nicer and cheaper.
the ladies cooking and cleaning are super nice though but the guy owning the place was a bit strange.

Report Check-In

Dogs allowed, but asked for us to tie her up. So, not super ideal.

Report Check-In

Very great place. The owner Magdalena and the family are very friendly. Quiet place. highly recommended

Report Check-In

Highly recommended! The owner Magdalena is such a nice, helpful and funny person. The place is very quiet and the center just a few minutes away by walking distance. Internet available as well, so, don’t hesitate and meet Magdalena yourself!

Report Check-In

As described by others. Wifi works great from restaurant parking lot. Lovely owner :) Enjoy!

Report Check-In

the place it's really good for the price 15000 cop/p camping. doña Magdalena is very funny and big heart.

Report Check-In

First impression is that it’s just a carpark, which it is, but it’s actually really nice - you can camp on the flat upper level with lovely views and some grass out front. Wifi was OK [Password removed by moderator.]. Paid 30,000cop per night - 2 people and a van.

Report Check-In

Price has gone up, we payed 30k for 2 persons +car (she asked 40k). Jardin is lovely town, we stayed 3 nights, parked next to the house. Seems there is also room for bigger rigs on a platform behind the house. Decent wifi.

Report Check-In

easy stay, quite good wifi (stay in the parking lot down to the restaurant, not on the little spot up the house for better internet). the owner (she, not the guy) was absolutely friendly and easy going. her (ex-)husband might also be around, friendly guy, but do the payments for the overnight stays to her (otherwise he will keept the money they told us) :-) showers cold, but easy. didn't eat at the restaurant.

Report Check-In

As mentioned lower this is a restaurant but we camped in the flat grounds in-front of it. Shower was cold and basic as the rest of the facility. Great views over Jardin though. Good for a night or two

Report Check-In

There is space for 1 or 2 cars. The place is ok and in walking distance to town. Restrooms are clean and open all the night. Food is ok but nothing special. We had better trouts in other places in the region. We payed 10000 pesos per people per night for camping.

Report Check-In

Quiet spot outside of town. About a 12-15 minute walk to central plaza.
Magdalena is gracious and made us special trout lunches since we didn't want fried.
The street/road to Truchera is steep, narrow and in places unpaved, muddy and rocky.
We didn't try the shower or set up electrical extension cord.
Wifi can be hit or miss.

Report Check-In

Update: charged 10,000 pp with no electricity. But bought six meals.

Report Check-In

Doña Magdalena is probably the most gracious hostess we've encountered. Loves having visitors and makes you feel at home. She didn't charge us to camp in our car, we just bought a trout lunch from her later.

There's only one plug-in and you'll need a roughly 5 meter extension cord to reach it. The wifi is strong, but the signal comes and goes. Running water in toilets, cold shower and great view! Roughly 5 minute walk into town.

Report Check-In

15000 cop/p. wc. wifi. elec. peu de place

Report Check-In

Friendly owners, allow sleeping in van for a tip or have tent and camping on a raised cover platform for 10,000 pp. Easy 5min walk to town and nice view. Checked out the other places on ioverlander and feel this is nicer. Parking on grass above house or on gravel by restaurant.
