Latest Check-Ins

The sun going down made for a beautiful arrival. Unprecedented winds led to a less desirable sleeping experience. The large sum of bugs left us feeling we were being eaten alive. Cool hike and beautiful rocks. 15 miles of gravel coming in. 3 bars of AT&T

Always incredible out here. Still $15 per night. Bathrooms are solid.

Interesting place. We stayed here midweek in November, arrived after dark, had the place to ourselves. Very remote, way off the beaten path. Some RR noise but not enough to bother us. Cold, 14° overnight but calm. Hiked around a little next morning. Cool rock formations. Glad we stopped.

Coming from the south, was not expecting to drive in on 15 miles of gravel. This is somewhat in the middle of nowhere. Just passing thru so only stayed the night. Verizon LTE but signal weak. $15 night. Covered picnic table, grill, fire pit. Seems well kept

Six sites. Can accommodate long RV/trailer. We are 67’ and site 5 works. Quiet. Fun hikes.

My experience is a little different than the previous folks.

I arrived at about 6pm midweek in the first week of October. The place was beyond packed. All six sites were taken, and the spot in the middle was filled with half a dozen tents. There were people, kids, dogs, and cars all over.

Sunset was coming soon, so I made a hasty retreat to the prairie where I found a moderately flat spot to set up my tent.

From what I could see, there's no privacy here. All the sites are in a small loop, and everything is out in the open. Not my kind of place.

No shade, but a beautiful view. the toadstool trail was nice to follow & only 1 mile!

Incredibly scenic tiny campground, lots of things to explore nearby. 5 good sites around the edge, 1 very exposed site in the middle. The edge sites filled up around 6pm on Fri/Sat nights -- other people drove through but no one ever took the site in the middle.
