got the knock at 5:30am. 30 mins before Walmart opens. so dumb. there were probably 10-15 other vans/rvs/overnighters and everyone got kicked out and their tags and license ran.
Report Check-InThis site no longer allows overnight camping. In fact, nowhere on Panama City Beach can you overnight unless you are super stealthy. Forget about trying with a camper/RV. I was told by the manager of walmart that the cops WILL have you towed. She said, employees can't even eat in their cars while on break. I was a bit skeptical and despite the warning, thought I'd check it out. Parked here around 6 pm. Got a bite to eat and survey to location. Both the beach police and a tow truck were on site. I took this as a clear sign and went over the bridge to panama city where I parked at a cracker barrel. I spent two days hanging out at the beach and parked during the day time at Pier Park Mall, where this Walmart is located. Both days, there were RV's in the parking lot during the day, but not at night. The beach is NOT Overlander friendly!
Report Check-InGreat Super Wal-Mart. Parked in the NW corner of the parking lot. Two other RVs were there. Was able to connect to McDonald’s WiFi. Quiet night with the occasional truck driving by.
Report Check-InUsual Walmart. A few other RVs and campervans. On Allstays this Walmart appears as not allowing overnight parking and the police enforcing it - a police car was idling in the back of the lot, right next to the RVs, for over an hour, and the officer didn't say or do anything.
Report Check-InWe stayed one night, no problems. Nobody bothered us. Just at 5 am somebody with a blower was working there.
Report Check-InStayed here one night on my way west. Didn't have any trouble and parked way in the back by the garden center. A few other vans were parked throughout. Normal city noise from the surrounding area but it didn't bother me. There's a Starbucks & Target nearby as well.
Report Check-InPulled into sleep one night here, plenty of space, semi’s parked on one side and RVs spread throughout
Report Check-InNot sure if I'd say quiet but just normal city noises shopping carts, cars, trucks, etc...
There is a walking path all around a pond between the Walmart parking lot and the McDonald's if you need a place to walk your dogs. No doggie pooh bags provided so please bring your own. 🐾
We were told the next morning by the police that overnight camping in any part of the city is against city ordinances and it’s an arrest able offense. Or a 500-700
dollar fine.
Very quiet Walmart. Shared with 4 other RVs & free parking close to beach (behind all of the shops) & only half a mile from Walmart
Report Check-InStopped here last night. Bit noisy until about midnight but otherwise no issues.
A couple of other vehicles here.
Arrived at 9:30pm. Went into Walmart bought a few things and then shut it down for the night. One other RV parked by us. No issues overnight. Quite noisy with traffic and large trucks. The street cleaning truck was driving around for about 20 mins at 4am too. But bathrooms and a free place to stay 👌
Report Check-Inthe usual. a little bit loud due to lots of trucks pulling in throughout the night and leaving their generators going but it's the best spot around. it's super busy around McDonald's so consider heading to the other end.
