Bumpy but pretty! Saw 1-2 other campers, driving at dusk saw a ton of black bears

Report Check-In

This is the Morshuea Lake Rec Site.. at MM 424.9.. from the entrance you can see the 425 MM sign..

the entrance is a bit hidden so we watching for sign on east side and gravel entrance on west.

There are 8 sites with 4 good for vans, trampers, MH and TT under 20 ft.

We camped in last site on right down near the lake.. all have tables and fire pit,, there are 3 pit toilets.

there is a area to turn around when you first come down the road about 500 yrd from Cassier hwy..

there is not a lot of room to turn around a large rig down by lake so stop and walk for bike first..

Easy access to like via a car trail for boat launch.. great views and quiet at night. Usual amount of bugs but not bad this time of year.

usual amount of fricken pot holes.. (like the skeeter is state bird, pot holes the state free gift for visiting AK, BC, YK etc. )

sign on road is brown on east side and right across from entrance. it's MM 424.9 and will sneak up on u.

the entrance is not steep by any measure. it does go down hill as u are heading to the lake.

we counted 8 spots. many were off the entrance road, which as it fair share of pot holes, 5 to 30 or so meters back. many are for Van's, MH<25, TT<20.

the ones down by lake are large rig good. we have 30 ft airstream with pickup truck. I had space to swing around to back in.

there's like 3 pit toilets around. condition was low average like.

did I mention pot holes? go slow and u can work around them a bit.

lake is nice with nice sunsets 🌇

there is gravel drive to lake for small boats launching.

Report Check-In

This is a really nice and quite spot. There are some camp spots down at the lake and some more up in the forest. Just beautiful and FREE!

Report Check-In

Good site for those with Starlink about 400 meters in on the south. Nice pull in with room to turn around.

Report Check-In

lovely spot for the night. there were a handful of picnic tables, fire rings and pit toilets.
3-4 other groups camping on 8/27

Report Check-In

Road has a lot of pot holes. We got a great spot down at the the turn around spot. Don’t go any farther as that is the boat lunch and you will to back out. The road is about 1k in length and narrow.

Report Check-In

Beauiful spot. Nice vie of Mount Frais à. NO one around.

Report Check-In

Free camping at a recreation area. No spots on the water, but we are about 40 yards down a road to a spot where you could put in a small boat.

Report Check-In

I was the only one here in July. Very typical recreation site. Steep access in however.

Report Check-In

The entrance to the site comes up quickly so drive slow. The forest is thick and provides a lot of privacy to the upper camping areas. The road wasn’t bad at all for our visit, just drive slow in the pothole sections. The scenery is beautiful near the lake which just has a boat launch, No camp sites. Lots of birds serenading you and ducks bobbing in the lake. Peaceful spot.

Report Check-In

Bumpy on the way down but fine.
we made it 38ft fifth wheel on oct 3rd 2019

not the most salubrious spot but decent.

Report Check-In

Pretty nice, spacious and clean outhouses. One is halfway up to service the forest sites.

Report Check-In

Très belle endroit bord de lac table à pique-nique presque 1 km de la route, montagne enneigée et pas de bruit de la route.

Report Check-In

No camp spots by the lake but beautiful indeed!

Report Check-In

Recreation Site 1 km on a small potholed dirtroad from Cassiar Highway with pit toilets, fire rings and picnic tables. Lake access with a boat ramp but the campsites are in the forest a bit away from the lake. Quiet.

Report Check-In

As described. Arrived at 6:30 pm and all the sites but the one in the forest were taken. Toilets are not accessible from this site. Very quiet.

Report Check-In

I am in a 35’ class A with I tow. The road Down is narrow and somewhat bumpy - but then, after Alaska, it’s not horrible. There are potholes, especially further down. I stopped at the first campsite. I had to unhook my Tahoe so I could turn around properly. But it is quiet. The mosquitos are out here, since it has recently rained. I only walked part of the road and didn’t see anyone else, but did see a motorcycle come down around 8.
The ground is mostly level and hard packed, I did put something under my back tires - just in case I need help to get out.

Report Check-In

We arrived around 5pm and place was empty so had a pick of spot. Nothing is really lake front you see it from far From two front spots everything else is in forest with big picnic tables n fire pit. Many many mosquitoes 🤬.. definitely quiet being far from main road. Some big potholes but doable with any vehicle.

Report Check-In

Always impressive to find those free places. Bigger BC Recreation Site with some spots that can accommodate more than one large rig. There are three campsites closer to lake + the space used by the previous reviewer.
Picnic tables, fire rings and clean pit toilets (2 or 3).

I would add that it’s not the most magical lake since it’s not surrounded by mountains (for concentrated view and reflection), but good for the price and we’ll just appreciate the nicer ones better.

Report Check-In

Nice Recreation Site at Morchuea Lake. All sites are in the forest and not directly at the lake. Far enough away from Cassiar Highway to be very quiet.

Report Check-In

Keep driving to get close to the lake. The camping spots with picnic tables and fire pits were taken near the lake so we parked in an area just before the boat ramp. There is room for probably 4 vans here. There was other campsites farther away from the lake. We just wanted to be close for views. Pit toilet. Make sure you have toilet paper! Don't forget to pack it out.

Report Check-In
