Description

MODERATOR NOTE: Camping not offered any more

Parking and big open area to camp surrounding the hostel. Just watch out for the mango trees. Several cheap eateries nearby. Two minutes walk to the beach. Surfing is about the only thing to do here.

Tried to camp here. Were send away, they apparently do not handle camping anymore. Ended up at Surfers Inn directly behind. Nice spot.

Report Check-In

nice place, underground bit wet because of rainy season. 6 usd pp for wifi, kitchen and bath. nice owner.

Report Check-In

Good spot to surf El Sunzal point break. Balthazar the owner is very chill and runs fishing tours. There's a huge area round the back perfect for camping, next to the kitchen and showers. $5pp for camping, $7pp for dorm bed. Cheaper area than el Tunco.

We walked here to check it out. Updating the coordinates since they seemed to be wrong. They told us $5pp. Decided not to stay since there are cheaper spots in El Tunco.

Buen lugar para pasar un par de días. Con cocina, baños, ducha e internet.
En la epoca final de lluvias los mosquitos eran un poco pesadilla. Y la playa está un poco lejos. Por el resto, todo perfecto.

We tried to go here. I don’t think it exists any longer, we went all the way down to the dead end at the beach and no signs of any hostel/camping options. We then had to reverse out as there was no easy way to turn around.

Report Check-In

we tried to get here but had to turn around. there's a massive, thick branch across the track at around 3m above the ground. we are 3.3m, there was no way we could get past.

Co-ordinates are wrong - it's the 2nd hostel on the right hand side along the narrow road. Amazing spot! We preferred staying here way more than El Tunco. Sooo peaceful, lots of space, so many shady trees, hang out areas, adorable dog Teo, nice kitchen and bathrooms, and the owner is incredibly nice. We actually stayed here one night before we even saw him because he does tours very early to late at night, and he didn't mind whatsoever! We paid $5pp and Balta was so grateful for the money. Would definitely stay again! So relaxing out there and a 2 minute walk to the beach 👌

Report Check-In

ok, We have a 7.40m long camper. This is still possible.

Report Check-In

Very narrow and bumpy road in. Not for bigger vehicles. Coordinates are slightly wrong. It is next to the Surf Point.

Report Check-In

great place to stay to surf el sunzal surf break. Balta, the manager, is very laid back and fun to talk to and arrange tours or pretty much anything you need. Took us to the Virgen de Concepcion celebration in la Libertad our first night. 5$/person but it's only $4/person if you stay 4 night or more. Esperanza next door can prepare good value meal, sells beer and does laundry. much more quiet than el tunco and perfect for those who just want to relax and surf. 20min walk to El Tunco on the beach.
