Description

Finca, hostel and Campground, Nice place to stay in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Nice forest and hike possibility. many animals : monkey and tucan.

There is a camping area, we slept here for 15k pp. inc. breakfast. You can negotiate the price if you don't want the breakfast.

There is also dormitorio for 25k pp and hamac for 20k, private room for 40k pp.

Need a high ground clearance car to get here, nothing too big, pick ups with cabins could probably go through no worries.

We stayed here for two nights ( 15 k a night) 2 people in a sprinter van. Nice route to the casa, we used our 4x4 and look out for the bamboo. Place is a bit run down, as described but a loveley spot and we have a one hour hiking to the nice waterfall where you can swim and hang in an enormous hammock.

It’s a nice place to Overland, to camp we Pay 20p/p

Report Check-In

We made it in and out no problems after several days of heavy rain without 4x4. Road has a few bad sections so high clearance is nice but not essential if you’re a decent driver. Funnily enough you’re more likely to get stuck in the field at the end where you park, that was getting pretty muddy. 10,000 per vehicle at the moment. Great price, nice temperature here and very peaceful. Wifi slow and patchy, electricity not very strong, we couldn’t hook up our battery charger. No means of cooking in kitchen. Bathrooms intermittently have no water, cold showers only and all water is from the river and so is not potable and pretty dirty after rain. But very cheap!! Bring your own toilet paper.

Was looking at an overly simplified map, forget about east west, make sure you're on the main road...

Report Check-In

Maps me guided us here without a problem, google maps couldn't find the road.
Once you leave the main road, you should have a 4x4, especially if rainy, or just a fairly high ground clearance and some prayers.
Make sure you arrive from the western side as the eastern road is supposed to be worst! We did fine in our Jeep Wrangler, nothing too technical, just a little tight.
The road is spooky but once you get there it is all worthy indeed.
Paying 10k Cop p/p p/n for camping. Facilities are nice. There are beds, hammocks and rooms available for upgrade, did not ask for price.
Nice flat grassy grounds.
Toucans and monkeys in the morning in the tree.
Oliver is super friendly indeed. I do recommend this place, as it is ideally situated for hikes.

Perfect stay for our family surrounded by nature.
Main difficulty is to find the place if you are using a car because google maps use a pedestrian way, but with help of neighborhood we find easily with our 4x4
this "difficulty" is immediately forget by Oliver your host : what a pleasure to meet him !!!
we recommend this place

A perfect quiet and easy place surrounded by beautiful nature. The young crew Geraldine and Oliver is so helpful and friendly. And the dinner is delicious. You need a 4x4 to get to the place but it’s worth! Was easy with our Defender. Flat grass with shadows. Everything is clean and working (toilet, showers, etc.) Great place.

Report Check-In

Quiet place in the mountains, as described. 4x4 recommended, especially for the part from the main road to the house. Oliver took us on a bird and water source watching tour early in the morning in the area of the finca. He told us about the coffee farming, too. We enjoyed the time! We brought our own food and water and cooked with our gas stove. Facilities are old, but clean and working. 20.000 Pesos per night for two people

Report Check-In

This run-down place is in dire need of some maintenance: toilets with broken or loose seats, not a single shower head, poor light, leaking water tubes outside, grass uncut. We did like the enormous tree in the corner of the (very uneven) terrain. We appreciated the small biting bugs a lot less.

Paid 10000 COP per person per night, (limited) 110V electricity included.

Report Check-In

be careful! NO, big rigs! our sprinter was too high (2,85m)! low hanging branches! the dirtroad leading there, is in very poor condition! high clearence and 4 wheeldrive recommended!!!

We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful hostel in the jungle. This is also a coffee plantation with lot of land, trails, tropical forest. Oliver and Geraldine are amazing students in business, very welcomed, friendly and super helpful. There is space for tents, dorms, private room and hammocks. Prepare yourself to eat lot of mangos and avocados 😉
From there you can walk to cerro Kennedy, take different trails around Minca to discover coffee plantation, falls and different viewpoint. We really enjoyed this quiet and peaceful place.

We drove here with our truck 7mxL.2.38Wx3.5H. The last 500m is a little narrow on account of branches from the trees along the road. Oliver and Gerldene the young couple who run the place are very nice and very happy to get overlanders. It's a place to have some time without many people around you with some very nice hikes around it. Oliver promised to make sure the road will be free of branches in order to accommodate big rigs without struggling. An extra bonus is a much milder temperatures then on the coast since they are at 800m telephone number is 3013498255

Nice campground and hostel. There's kitchen, water, toilets and cold showers. It's really hot during the day but at night it cools down and there's a breeze so we got a really good night sleep. It needs a bit of work as the facilities are a bit used but they were perfect for us.
There's plenty of space to pitch a tent and also good for big rigs.
