Something not right?

Description

When you head from JuJuy to Corrientes, at the province borders the road get really nasty. Super huge potholes, drivers zig zaging from left to right. We wanted to pass this in the evening/night but I really cannot imagine this. Potholes are from this police check point to the city Monte Quemado. After Monte Quemado to the city Pampa de los Guanacos the road is old, but not that bad as before.

Latest Check-Ins

The road has been repaired! It’s now as good as it has been up until this point.

I will probably report to IOverlander to remove this warning but wanted to leave this here just incase!

When you get about 2-3kms from Monte
Quemado the road is a bit crap but really not that bad and it’s no more than 1km.

Report Check-In

Approx. 35km of the road are new paved! They are working at the last few kilometers.

Report Check-In

Road fixed, they are still working but no more holes atm. Almost finished.

Report Check-In

THE ROAD IS FIXED!
We were lucky. The road is fixed right now. They are finisching the last mile.
The road from "pampa the los Guanacos" untill "Monte Quemado" is still not very good but we could drive it by 60km/h.

Report Check-In

Lots of zigzags and maneuvers to avoid the huge potholes and bad road conditions, so be very patient. Same as others have already said already so be ready.

Report Check-In

Well, that was one hell of a challenge.
Glad it's not my daily commute route.

Report Check-In

For a cyclist it was actualy more fun than problems! After long days cycling this boring ruta 16 it gave me an opportunity of using my pilot's skills a bit. There was always a way to avoid the hols and it did not slow me down at all.

Report Check-In

Huge potholes with bits of asphalt around... Crazy road but that‘s part of overlanding ! A trick: follow trucks, they will show you the best zigzag way and when to slow down even more. Sometimes driving on the gravel side is much better. From here to Monte Quemado. Then old road but way better and good road from El Caburé towards Resistencia.

Report Check-In

still VERY VERY VERY bad potholes. Cars are driving everywhere. Totally doable if you drive very slow. some trucks are driving on the side of the roads. not sure if that is ok but they do it.

Report Check-In

really bad potholes for around 50 km or so. really bad and one after another. during the day doable. during night probably a nightmare. The road is bad, but if you have to do it you have to :) otherwise take some other route.
