Charged 100 pesos/night solo moto with tent, friendly owners, and they now have hot electric showers
We looked for a place to wildcamp and asked a lady where and if we could stay somewhere. She just opened her own place with a few cabañas together with her family. The place is really nice, right by the river, and the family is amazingly friendly! We asked if we could build a fire and she got us wood, and let us taste her delicious tamales. Cabañas are available for MXN650/800 with private bathroom 4 ppl (price depending on season), or MXN350 for 2ppl. There is a bathroom available if you camp, and electricity as well. They are working on opening a small restaurant (which looks beautiful already!), so food will be available. They are also working on WiFi, but if you would need it they will let you use the WiFi in their house for now. No showers when camping I think, but you are right by the river.
Very much recommended! The place is beautiful and very relaxed, and the animals you see and hear are amazing!

100 pesos for a tent, 150 if you sleep in your car or camper.
The place is really nice, close to the river, lot of shade. Good chance to spot spider monkey and to hear howling monkeys. Owners are nice. The day we were here (Easter week end), they sold food and drinks, but I dont know if its everyday. The owners were nice. They left the place everyday at 9 p.m so you need to arrive before (but anyway, you would want to avoid driving at night coming here because the road is in bad condition).
They also have cabañas between 600 and 750 pesos (2 or 3 people), but we didnt try them.
Tropical Storm Pilar brought so much rain that the campground was completely flooded. No camping possible.
Report Check-InNice spot, 100 pesos for two with a van, mud pit but saw a lot of crazy stuff! Hot shower wasn't hot...

Unfortunately no toilets and showers at the moment, which is why we ended up at the other place!
Nice family, fine campsite with a small restaurant with delicious food for little money. toilet and hot shower. Very good starting point for the boat trips. The howler monkeys and spider monkeys visited us there.

Report Check-Incamping 50 pesos for me and my minivan, restaurant good meal not expensive, near the river, also they have cabanas to rent, very quiet, you can ear the Monkey yielling in the morning or at night near you.
Report Check-InWe first wanted to stay here, but then decided to move to the other place because after heavy rain in the previous days the place was very muddy.
Report Check-Innice spot on the border of the river
stayed 3 days, in order to see well the 3 species from our camper (for the Ara you need to walk just some meters to be able to see some of them on a huge tree nearby just watchout for their noises)
very nice and caring family owner (just by seeing them, you'll understand)
even all the people in this flowered village are very nice.
just one thing, with some rain the ground will be muddy and you'll feel like in Woodstock.
paid 100 pesos per day for a big rig with 4 persons.
a good spot to be recommended!
This is the right Retoño! The lady's name is Doña Rosa. It was our best place in Chiapas. Very clean showers and toilets. Electricity but no Internet.
Report Check-InAmenities and cost As described. Lovely old lady showed us around and cleaned toilets. Told us about her life here (a tough one) and came by later in the evening and gave us tomales.
We saw howler, and spider monkeys as well as scarlet macaws all from our camper.
Report Check-InNice spot with a lot of trees and orchids.
Clean baños and bucket shower.
She asked 100M$/night for two people in a small van. When I said that friends paid 50M$, she told me that big trucks with their own toilet are 50M$ and tents/vans are 100M$ because they use water and baños.
We stayed anyway and enjoyed the peaceful village.
How to check-in: If there is nobody at the cabañas, go back to the village. Go straight at the first junction, go to the end of the next block. The house (grey stones) is at the end of this block at the left.
