Description

Beautiful place at the lake in front of the houses of the Finca, clean toilets, cold shower, restaurant. Probably crowded at the weekend. Quiet in the night. Quetzales 60,00 per night.
Update 05-2021: 80Q per night for camping with 2p (+2 kids, but they were free)

Latest Check-Ins

Nice place at the lake side. Came here as an alternative to sleeping at the aqua calientes, where they asked 50Q to sleep next to the road and had quite some begging kids and pushy sellers..
The place suffers from the pandemic and its quite sad to see it so deserted. We were alone on Sunday afternoon..

Paid 80Q for the night for 2p and 2 kids, probably could have negotiated it down, but we feel now is not the time to do so.

The entry by Central America Overland Expeditions below is misleading and NOT for this place. It relates to the Falls site at the main road.
This Lakeshore place is easy to find, just follow the track to the lakeshore... etc voila! We had lunch in the restaurant (which was ok) but didn't camp here, it all looks rather commercial and likely to be horribly busy at weekends.

Nice place at the lake in front of the houses of the Finca, clean toilets, cold shower, restaurant. Probably crowded at the weekend. Quiet in the night. Quetzales 60,00 per night. Across the street is a beautiful hot waterfall.

Q50/person beautiful site next to restaurant by river. 10 minute walk to hot springs and waterfall. Along highway with semi's making lots of engine braking noise.

Report Check-In

The bathrooms are adequate. Common sink. Showers are cold and located in an outhouse style building. However, the hot waterfalls are absolutely amazing and can easily provide a great shower! The restaurant has some food available (we ate breakfast, and a chicken sandwich in the evening). Its only a 5 minute walk from the restaurant to the falls. If nobody is there to show you, make sure you swim under the rocks under the waterfall. There are really awesome caves to swim through. You dont realize they are there unless someone shows you. Very noisy at night! Jake brakes are the main cause. Lots of truck traffic. But even with this nuisance, we came back twice, because the falls are so well worth it. Electric included (plug into restaurant) 25Q/person Rating is based on Waterfalls. Everything else was satisfactory.

Located right on the lake, super helpful owner

Price: $ 7.80

Beautiful place, but unfortunately noisy at night. Barking dogs, and crowing cock Entengeschnatter. WC. Weekend not recommended because everything trashy. Quetales 60 / night.

Turn right just before north side street in Rio Dulce towards Cascada Aguas Calientes. Compared to the hot waterfall, turn left into gravel road

Fantastic campsite directly on the shore of Lago de Izabal. Very clean area with unfortunately bad toilets. Restaurant. Within five minutes you can drive to the hot waterfall of Aguas Calientes (10 Quetzal / person + 10 Quetzal parking).
