Something not right?

Description

Fire pits, magnificent views of the Andes, river to fish. Old pit toilets that are in disrepair but still usable for the brave (it’s better to use these existing toilets than dig cat holes!). Gorgeous views and very peaceful at night.

About 20 mins from the northern entrance to Los Alerces NP. Gravel road, super easy access, no need for high clearance or 4x4. Gaucho Town. Friendly people. Loved it!

I echó the below comments. Amazing place to stop after or before the national park. Stunning views, feeling nature at its best. The color of the flowers in contrast with the mountain colours is so beautiful.
We stayed one night. Peaceful and quiet. Recommended!

thanks ioverlander for this place!! We arrived at night leaving Los Alerces park and we didn't see anything. In the morning it was beautiful! good views, there is a sink to wash, bathrooms but closed, barbecue and tables. excellent stop!

Drive to the end of the road until you hit the river. Clean area, bathrooms open while we were here. Quiet but windy night, calm with no wind in the morning. All of the tables/asados are in bad shape. Still a great place to camp with incredible views, a beautiful river and wild horses.

Excelent spot!!!
exactly as mentioned. Just what we were looking for: a great place to spend a night before or after entering the national park. Once in there are not free places for overnight.

Peaceful place to spend the night. We parked closer to the river. Further up there's fire pits for asado and little tables. There's running water up by the bathrooms but the bathrooms are locked. No cell service, but beautiful river and lovely mountain views. Can even put up a tent, but it was quite windy at times while we were here.

We spent one night here, coming from Parque Los Alerces. We asked the locals if we could sleep and they were very friendly. It has barbecues, sink with water, point to supply water in the motorhome. There were restrooms, however, they were closed. It has no energy. A quiet place with a beautiful view of the Cordillera

Report Check-In

We LOVED THIS SPOT! Tons of room for plenty of people, including big rigs, tents, etc. Right alongside the river, which is very calm and nice to take a dip in if the weather is good. Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Do note that it can get quite windy as there is little to no wind protection here, unless you park or pitch your tent behind the bathroom building (which seems to be permanently closed/out of service).

There are a bunch of tables and parilla areas, though there are no racks so you’ll have to bring your own. There are two old pit toilets but both of them are exposed as their surrounding walls are in disrepair (you can tell this place used to be used as a popular camping/parilla spot, but hasn’t received any TLC in a long time).

There are homes directly behind this camp spot, so please be respectful of the neighbors. Don’t leave your trash, toilet paper, etc. behind.

Couldn’t recommend this spot more, especially if you’re planning on visiting the national park or on your way out of it. Enjoy!

Good place with Open Space, river and mountain view. No facilities except water, no signal.

nice spot, all comments true. Trout in the river at that time of the year. not much wind.
only downside is the animal noises at sunrise, it's a bloody festival!

As commented before, still a beautiful spot! Keep it clean for others, please :-)
