Description

Great boondock campsite with views of the wind farm. Minimal highway noise. Great sunsets! We had 5G with T-Mobile.

UPDATE: there are thieves in this area! A fellow iOer told me his van was broken into yesterday and he lost a lot of valuables. Damned bummer! So stay at your own risk and stay with your vehicle. I stayed down the hill from this spot, closer to the entrance.

2nd time here. Ditto first report. Two Class C neighbors. Road a bit funky in places but my 2WD Sprinter handled it fine.

Report Check-In

Just as described. Off the highway maybe 6-7 minutes will get you to a quiet spot. Road is funky at the entrance but my Sprinter made it easily. Great spot, beautiful sunset. 3 bars Verizon. (Oh! The train (!) it’s infrequent and not loud so it didn’t bother me at all.)

Report Check-In

Spent the night here. Plenty of turn offs and little pull offs to park. View of the wind farm and quiet. If you go out far enough you can’t hear the road. Lots of spider holes so look out.

Great flat spot in California City. Clean and far away from hwy noise.

Quintessential Overlanderj spot. We arrived in the dark to a mass of twinkling lights in the distance. Glorious morning sunrise revealed it to be a wind farm on the horizon

Idk. Road was ok on our night arrival. Dry but rutted in spots, accidentally took the non main route and got some fresh brush pinstripes on our 8ft wide box camper deal. Surprisingly can’t hear hwy, but there is a train track just a mile or so south that has been active this eve. Saw a cool moonrise. 3 stars imho. Oh also just peeped the Gaia and this is def private land. Reduced to 2.5 stars..

we pulled off but didn't drive all the way to the spot to describe. It was a great place to spend the night. we were the only folks there and the ground is very flat and level. wonderful views. very peaceful.

This one is a bit further down a good 2 track. Nice views of surrounding buttes and hills. Being amongst Joshua Tree is worth the visit for a quiet overnight spot!
