Description

Beware of using Google Maps! It first lead us to a private driveway 18 miles away on the other side of the valley. Just stay on 93S and you'll see the sign.

Beautiful little campground near Hamilton, has hikes nearby. Roughly half dozen first come-first serve campsites. Firewood sold from host for $5 a bundle. Near creek. Day use area that can be used to camp w/host permission. Awesome views of rocks/cliffs. Can fit small RV/trailer, but no hook-ups. Pit toilets available. Can stay up to 5 days free.

Latest Check-Ins

heads up: we woke up to a really strange older man (w/a white car and yellow hammock), trashing the campsite across from us, blasting music/news out of a bluetooth speaker. he was definitely not all together, kept watching us and gave us bad vibes. i reported it to the local ranger station, but they didn’t seem to care. be diligent. (everyone else who stayed here last night were normal and quiet).

the entire road is not paved—it’s 7 miles off the main road, on a really rough/pothole filled road, and then about a mile or two on a horribly washboard hardpacked dirt road.

despite it being so far back here, it honestly is a nice campground. still for free, 5 day limit, 5 official sites, but it doesn’t seem like anyone would be enforcing the day use area, so a few other rigs could park there. 2 of the spots are under the trees, 3 of the spots are more exposed, but all are paved/gravel (no mud here on a rainy day).

people here are currently having a fire, but due to all the fires in the area, i assumed there was a huge fire ban, so i would not recommend risking it.

clean pit toilet. spotty at&t.
(i attached photos of 4/5 sites)

Nice little campground. Clean pit toilet, picnic tables, fire rings. No water other than the creek and no trash. Pack it out! There are 7 sites nestled among the pines near the mouth of a canyon on Blodgett Creek. We got here at 3 pm on a Thursday and were lucky to get a site, so get here early. There is no camp host or fee box so it’s free.

Update: there is no camp host here this year. The campground was full but we couldn’t speak to the host as there was none so we decided to sleep in the day use parking lot. Four other people did the same thing. No one bothered us. The creek is beautiful, the cliffs are gorgeous. A very nice campground. Wish it was bigger with more sites.

Report Check-In

Very quiet spot. Half bar Verizon, but a little better at nearby trailhead.

Report Check-In

Quaint campground beside the river, with trailhead nearby. Only 5 sites, but will handle 40' RV. paved road all the way here. No facilities, but free! Quiet during the week when we were here, but sites filled fast, so come early. High cliffs all around hover over this valley.

This spot is great.... you can stay for 5 nights for free.... There are only 5 camp sites... but there is a day use area and we were allowed to spend the night there.... I set our tent up right next to the stream.... Very friendly campground met a couple of the regulars and they made our stay a lot of fun...
