Description

Informal camping set up next to the Bay of Fundy. Ran by owner Don and his dog Sally.

Just park up anywhere on Bay of Fundy side - Don is at the house over the road - definitely go and say hi, he's a great guy. has set this place up in his retirement and just loves seeing all the travellers come through.

He has access to fresh water, there's a fire pit, portaloo, pizza oven and lots of tables to sit round. Fire wood sold opposite the road. Good mobile reception.

Donations accepted.

Spent a great night here today. We called the owner, number is printed at a sign when you arrive. He called back and told us it's no problem to stay even in winter. Thank you for your place here!

Report Check-In

green grassy field with a couple structures for fire pit and brick oven. Don is owner and runs it with his family. Very nice and kind people. his dog Sally is aging and doesn't make it across the road anymore, but he has a couple younger ones that didn't come over. Rained a bit while we were there and probably the cause for the mosquitoes. bring some spray though.

Simply wonderful. One other Camper here. Don is very nice. He provides us with firewood.

Field with free overnight camping. Toilet and campfire pit. There were a couple others camping when I was there but still plenty of space. People come and go as they please. Great experience, would stay again!

Report Check-In

I drove by this morning and the "free camping" sign is still there, and there were several rigs in the campground. It looks like a nice place to stay and it was my "plan B" last night if my preferred site was full (it wasn't)

Thanks Don for your hospitality and this beautiful spot. Felt welcome and safe. Met to other beautiful souls and we had great conversations. I'm glad I spend the night here

A wonderful place to stop. Don and his dogs are very kind and accommodating! He welcomes people from everywhere and asks that you put a pin in the world map he has in the vacant camper. You will see a tin man sculpture and lots of old relics. Must stop!

Great spot. A few local campers and the owner’s dogs greeted us upon arrival. Friendly, casual, a few tents and a bonfire going when I pulled in.

An eclectic little acreage with some interesting tenants. Donations strongly encouraged to help maintain the place. He sells firewood and usually there is a fire going. One other couple camped there and we had great time chatting

12/10 spot!!! If you like to meet other campers and socialize then 100% make your way here. The descriptions from the other comments are accurate, basically field camping, with a shared fire pit and outhouse (kept clean and useable!). Was mosquito-y and damp as excepted. But Was a really great & fun night. Left a donation and signed the book in the office trailer!! Really amazing to see how many passerbys there’s been, it’s something special and worth going to visit for at least a night.

Bel endroit tranquille. Nous avions la place à nous seuls. Le monsieur demeure de l’autre côté de la rue. Par politesse, Il faut juste aller lui dire bonjour et demander si c’est ok. Il y a une boîte pour contribution volontaire; ce que je trouve très correct.

I Love the place. Yes it is a free camping spot with a big fire pit so that everyone can sit around it and meet other people with different stories. Don the owner is awesome he is an older guy that used to be a camper and now loves bringing campers together

The shire has to be my all time favorite camp ground I've stayed at. From the communal fire pit and to the random clay pizza oven, everything was just amazing. I want to go back and enjoy more time there .

Report Check-In

Very nice set up this lovely couple have for travelers to enjoy. Campers enjoyed a fire. To many campers to close to our van for my liking but would be great for those who like.

Report Check-In

Place as everyone already describe it! big commun firepit, Don is really chill. Potty, water for the dishes, etc.

The mosquitos are no joke since we are at the end of a swamp. Be careful when you open your doors.

Option to plant you tent in the small cemetery that is there for the adventurous.

Indeed a cosy and friendly place to stay. Very welcoming owner (and dogs) and nice guests sharing the fire under the rustic roof of the open shelter with wooden swing chairs. There is a vegetable garden, a horseshoe dart game, stone pizza oven and lots off green grass to set up camp. As amenities you’ll find a pit toilet as well as a water station to wash dishes. Fire wood sold opposite the street. Potable water for free available upon request at the owners house on the other side of the road. There is an old cemetery next door and a nice view over the water. A tranquil place with a good atmosphere and currently only a few mosquitoes. As a courtesy from the owner offered for free, but we were more than happy to put a good token into the donation box. Grand that such places exist!

Seems to be someone's land with an informal camping set up. We did not camp and there was no one there when we were there. Interesting cemetery next door. Lots of wandering dogs. Worth a stop and overnight. Views of the bay of fundy!!
