Lungi Airport Lodge Run by a lovely British couple.
Need an alternative to the unsafe Freetown beaches? This is it, run by Ghazali and Lorraine out by Freetown airport NOT TO BE MISTAKEN WITH AIRPORT LODGE HOTEL (That place was awful.)
This place is great for us overlanders, safe secure parking, within very easy reach of the ferry that takes you to Freetown for those of you that need to go and do your Nigeria visa etc
I wish i had found this place before i went to the beaches, Ghazali and Lorraine are super helpful and can help with just about anything.
In the Lodge the rooms are clean, tidy and come with a fan and A/C, my partner wanted to take the bed with us.
They also have a bar and pool table and Lorraine makes a great dinner, breakfast is included in the lodge and is brought to your room if you like.
I can't speak highly enough of this place, don't be put off with it being across the water, its easier to get into town than being on the other side and cheaper too, there are beaches close by with great views and of course its close to the airport.

This place has been toyally renovated and is opening in April 2024. The owner is happy to have overllanders in the car park which has security all night. The owner says he will. Organise tilt and shower facilities.. The beautiful pool can be used for a small charge and the bar is a total oasis and ice cold beers from the uk,Carlsberg and Budweiser.
If you want a treat then splash out on a room 100 US which for clean tiled rooms with hot showers seems reasonable.
Restaurant with chef from the Philippines looks great.
Now we haven’t tried the camping in the car park because construction is on going
A great, relaxed place to stay with clean, spacious & comfortable rooms with AC, big beds, good Wifi, lovely outdoor restaurant/bar, we had a tasty jollof rice with shrimps. Plenty of space to park inside
the site. More rooms and a pool being built when we we visited
Hosts Lorraine & Ghazali very welcoming and helpful.
A home from home with great home cooking, great staff and very comfortable accommodation, we had to go across to Freetown for visas and by chance we met Kadiatu who is a great guide and knows her way around, she saved us from being overcharged on many occasions her WhatsApp contact is +23277440462 she knows the visas locations and how to get around quickly we highly recommend her
Report Check-Ini forget to mention that the i also went to the lungi hotel to compare. the guy at the frontdesk was friendly. rooms are more expensive, 90dollar. we saw one it was clean.
they have a secure parking, but dont know if you can sleep in your own car.
Rip off place, if you are an overlander and want to sleep in your own car. They ask7dollar to sleep in your own car without toilet or shower. If you want this then you pay 10 dollar extra, no discussion. you can not even use the toilet if u use the restaurant.
basic room with fan cost 22dollar. Room with ac costs 45dollar. most expensive room is 54dollar. Rooms look good.
i wanted to book a room for my mother who comes to visit next week, and i had to pay everything in advance.
food starts from 50000le. dinner was ok, bit spicey rice. a lot of local places to eat just outside the gate, on the road to airport and mainroad.
there is indeed a pooltable, but do not except a real size one (see photo).
we did not saw a british couple but only people working here.
this place is just a lodge, campground next to the airport. no beachviews, no mountainviews, etc. we stayed at different places right at the beach on the other side of freetown, wich we recommend.
