Absolutely 5 star camp site in the grounds of the lodge. Restaurant and bar, allowing you to chill and take some time off from wild camping. South African owners and superbly run. Absolutely recommended

Report Check-In

Fantastic place. Very friendly owner and staff. Beautiful view over the lake.

Report Check-In

Nice Lodge with South African owners. Even as they were closed for renovation work they let us use their campsite and prepared a great meal for diner and breakfast. They even gave us some hard boiled eggs for lunch when we continued our trip by motorcycle the next morning. Great people. Camping is 15.000TZH per person, new, big and verry clean sanitary building with running hot water with good pressure. Soft grass to place the tents.

Agree with all below - one of the best campsites we’ve visited for facilities.

Only thing to add is that it’s possible to make it to Kigoma in one day, we left at 4:30am and arrived around 4pm.

Report Check-In

Exceptional campsite offering beautiful sites with a view on Lake Victoria and very clean, luxurious ablutions (including big bathtub and tropical showers). You can use all resort facilities as well.
Very hospitable, friendly, attentive, and supportive staff and owner. For an unexpectedly low price.

Report Check-In

Excellent campsite, brand new ablutions that are spotless, HOT water and a soaker tub in the woman’s washroom, kitchen area also brand new, level grass, power points, two pools, laundry at 10k per bag, food in the restaurant is excellent, a true oasis. Staff are friendly, owner is onsite. Well worth the stop over. Paid 15k per person.

The site is undergoing a lot of building work and as such not everything is working properly. We had a lot of problems with getting the water working. But... it is a lovely campsite with great views, friendly staff, and a good bar/restaurant.

Wonderful relaxing and homely. Wow!! Just wow!!!!!!!

We were SO surprised by what we found here. A campsite paralled to none. We paid 30k Tsh for a site per night and were blown away by the hospitality, the service and the facilities. If your are looking for something worth your while and your money, seriously consider this place. Apart from the restaurant and swimming pool and amazing ablutions, you will also be astonished by the additional services such as washing, fresh produce and charcoal from the local market (including fresh fish). Just inquire at reception. We came for just one night and stayed a week. Fabulous.

The owner built a place more uphill, because the old one was flooded. Although not quite finished yet, was it wonderful to stay here with a view on lake Victoria. The best shower, we have had in the last 5 months. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant ist good and inexpensive, not forgetting the two swimming pools and the beautiful garden.

Report Check-In

We had hoped to come here for some good South African nostalgia… but… 5000pp entrance fee if you aren’t staying over, even if you are spending money at the restaurant. Beautiful views, attractive swimming pools, manicured lawns. Slow service, items missing from menu (menu in restaurant was vastly different from what is posted online— no Durban curry and no vetkoek— so no real South African options anymore). We waited over an hour and a half to receive our food, while a huge family was seated, ordered, served, and left in 30ish minutes and long before anything arrived for us. Our food arrived with ingredients we specifically said we were allergic to and asked to be taken off the meal. (Chickpea curry was good and ice cold Windhoek is always a win!) The manager was kind and apologetic, but it unfortunately was not a great experience for us. Beautiful place, really, and we see why people love it here… but we are sad it didn’t work for us. We had been so hopeful.

Beautifully maintained resort with newly built campsite with 3 spacious pitches and new washhouse directly on the lakeshore. At the moment 30000 Tzs per campsite and night. Very friendly staff

Report Check-In

We had 2 very relaxing nights here at this beautiful resort. The campsite is still being completed but we were offered a cabin for 30 USD for 2 per night and were still able to cook for ourselves from the back of the truck. There r 2 lovely swimming pools, stunning gardens, a bar and restaurant, free WiFi and a very helpful and friendly team. Thank you Abdul for looking after us so well.

10usd pp for camping or 30usd for double room with ac and breakfast. Beautiful grounds and 2 pools. Enjoyed one very nice night here. Food was great.

Report Check-In

The place is open after renovation- we definitely liked the small houses, good shower, swimming pool and food. They're still building the campsite- we would love to have camped but this was not possible. We thought we had a good deal (70.000 instead of the usual 100000 (including breakfast)), only after registering we heared that breakfast was 36.000 for two persons extra, so that would have been even more expensive. Still the place has a beautifull view and brings relaxation- for us it was bit too perfect- perfectly contained- but we missed a bit like the African influences/nature/messy style.

The place is Closed to Renovation until September 2021. The guard let us stay outside.
Although called Campsite it is not a campsite.

Well maybe reading all the other experiences, the expactation where a bit high.
I think this place has nothing to do with „overlanding“
You are not allowed bringing own food or drinks..there are plenty of regulations „dont pee in the pool“ well yes we do this all the time 😂..there is no camping..you can rent a bungalow for 30$ ( if you want to pay TSH you get a rate and pay 32$. There is NO creditcardpayment possible, only cash, there is NO internet, there is NO breakfast included in these 30$.( later we got it included as we told them we had read on ioverlander)
Showers are very hot but nearly no cold water..so cant realy use them
The staff is very helpfull and friendly, its a nice setup with a very small pool.
For honeymoon couples or people who want to give themselfes a treat >great,
The food. dinner and breakfast where great ( wiky thanks;) price for food and drinks absolutely ok 👌

Beautiful spot on the lake. Probably our favourite place so far on our travels. We paid 30 USD to stay in a chalet that usually costs 100. Had a fan... Amazingly comfortable bed and the place has a swimming pool, bar and excellent restaurant that accommodated our dietary needs. Highly recommend this place, what a gem! For something special stay on the lake itself for 150 usd! Perfect romantic spot in one of the most stunning locations.

A little paradies on earth. Awesome South African hosts and super, super friendly staff. Camping area fortunately :-) not ready yet, so we could stay for the same price (30$ per room including breakfast for 2 pp) in a wooden bungalow with private bathroom. New, clean, and decorated with love. Camp is directly located at the shore of Lake Victoria surrounded by picturesque rock formations. Beautiful pool (clean!) area with lots of seating possibilities and they even provide towels. You don't want to leave this place ever again. Highly recommended - best place we stayed in East Africa on our trip around Lake Victoria.

Report Check-In

Brilliant spot to chill - camp site is still under construction.

Fantastic place, the best maintained lodge we have stayed at. Extremely well trained staff. Still no camp site. They offered us a cottage for 2 people for 30$ per night. We stayed for 4 nights. Small pool with big lawn on the lake. Lots of bird life. The wifi was extremely bad and un reliable. Vodacom Tanzania has reception down by the Jetty. They are still enlarging and building but campsite will still take some time. We highly recommend this place.

lovely place, Very clean and comfortable, nice people. At weekends it might be a little bit busy

Report Check-In

Excellent new place run by a young South African couple. They’re still developing it and there’s no campsite ready. Fear not though, they’ll do anything to make you comfortable.

We went for a bungalow and they charged us the same as they would charge us if we were camping, 25 USD. The bungalows are something you could easily pay 100+ USD for at other places.

Restaurant is great, pool is cool and people are friendly. Go here if in the neighborhood.

Amazing food and comfortable beds. Aircon rooms. They put us up in room as the camping and tenting is still in building. Hot showers, clean water and a swimming pool to relax. We took an extra day here to relax.
