German Auto Masters - Sprinter Vans Repair Shop | Mechanic and Parts

After having the ABS light show up on the dash at 4pm on a Friday afternoon, I quickly googled a local sprinter specialist and found German Auto Master.

I called and Mike promptly answered. He said I could come that same day and he would diagnose the issue (he was closing at 5pm and graciously gave us his time!) He truly is a Sprinter Specialist with knowledge about everything Sprinter related.

I’ve done all of my own mechanical work on the Sprinter thus far and have a good understanding on the vehicle, and when talking with Mike it was very clear he had knowledge above and beyond regular mechanics.

He had the sensor I needed replaced in stock and was able to install it Monday morning. He was able to get us back on the road quickly as we were passing by on a road trip.

Highly recommend for maintenance or repairs, Mike will get your issue sorted out the right way.

Just the place we were looking for! Mike immediately took a look at our brakes and figured out they were okay. We had some questions about our electrical system and fan in the house part of our van, so he called his friend Nick. Nick is amazing at all things van conversion and fixed two issues very quickly. We also learned a lot from both of them. Great people, great work, and great price!

Mike is the man! This guy saved our (road-) life! He learned his job at Mercedes in Germany and still speaks German really well.
We were desperate after our 2009er Sprinter (OM642) was in emergency mode and 2 official Mercedes dealers were not able to help us. They said the diagnosis computer is broken and before they can find out what might be the problem, it’s first necessary to replace the “broken diagnosis device, cost 2850 bucks. Well, good luck we were taken a third opinion from mike, he solved this problem with a little contact spray(!) and found out the problem was a 50 Dollar Sensor!
I highly recommend Mike and his Team for their professional work but also for their warm friendliness.

Mike and his team at German Auto Masters has over 34 years of experience working on Sprinter engines and any owner of these vans will know what a rare find that is. Not only was he super knowledgeable about every aspect of my van but he also treated me with respect and took time to explain exactly what they were going to fix. He presented me with several options for the repair and transparently showed me what my costs would be depending on what I chose to do and with the parts I wanted to go with.

His driving philosophy of not just replacing an entire component but rather making an accurate diagnosis of the problem and targeting the fault with as few parts as possible, ended up saving me a lot of time and money.

His prices are fair and reasonable and with his work ethic you will come out miles ahead of going to any MB dealership. Gems like these are hard to find, I knew it the moment I walked in and started chatting to him. Can’t recommend him enough!

Mike is the owner and has been working almost exclusively with Sprinters since 2004 (And with Mercedes and Diesel engines for over 35 years). He has all the used and new parts you could need for any repair and budget, and his expertise shows. His shop always has a row of Sprinters parked out front which inspires confidence. His rate is currently $95 an hour plus parts, but given how long he's been working with these vans he gets stuff done quickly.

I highly recommend visiting German Auto Masters for any repair needs in South Florida. He not only fixed my van's issues but also found errors that my previous mechanic had done and fixed those as well. He even dropped the fuel tank on my 2005 and installed an alternate fuel line for my ESPAR heater for $800 less than quotes I received elsewhere.

Mike is extremely professional, communicated any findings and provided detailed electronic quotes before doing any additional work on the van (and even kept the shop open until 8pm on a Friday so I could pick up the van when my flight came in). Let him know you found him through IOverlander!
