Great little campsite! It’s $16 per night and must be reserved in advance on recreation.gov. Plenty of bathrooms, trash, and non potable water. We didn’t stay long enough to see if there was potable water anywhere. The cottonwoods rustling are amazing! I would definitely recommend it.

quite camp grounds close to the Same Elana Canyon and Rio Grande River. Fee campsite, no generators allowed. dry camp spots with potable and non-potable water spigots in the campground. several pit toilets. Zero T-Mobile in my camper 1 bar LTE if I walked around.

The campground does require reservations at rec.gov. There is potable water available to fill water containers. RV tanks cannot be filled. there is non potable water for washing dishes and hands etc. Quiet and peaceful, no generators or idling of vehicles to charge batteries. many sites have shade that would limit solar panels.

Report Check-In

Flat level spaces with plenty of trees for shade, not much privacy between sites, pit toilets

Nice campground with big trees, peaceful and quiet. Had 1-2 bars Verizon at times, but very spotty.

This is a great location to stay to explore the desert trails. It is more primitive and smaller than the other 2 in the park. Sites are all within a loop, but everyone was quiet & respectful. Potable & non-potable water available along with clean vault toilets. Saw several roadrunners here along with an owl.

The NP Campground located on the Southwestern end of Big Bend NP. About 20 sites situated among large cottonwood trees providing nice shade. Reservation required and zero cell service. No generators allowed even though there is no electricity (which is nice!).

Lovely quiet Oasis in the desert. Short distance to Santa Elena canyon water access and other Big Bend hiking trails. There is one drinking water spigot but the pressure and hookup make it impossible to fill anything more than a few water bottles. Non potable water is available at multiple spigots through the campground. Very clean pit toilets.

Reservations are currently required due to covid at recreation.gov.

as reported by others, except no first come first serve any more. must make reservations. $16, $8 with senior pass. no generators, no camp fires, no hookups, no dump station. 10°-20° F warmer than campgrounds in the higher elevations. probably brutally hot in the summer, but great in mid Jan.

Small campground on unpaved dusty road. Pit toilets and non-potable water on both ends of the campground. Filter water at the entrance just past the cattle guard. It was hot with alot of small flying bugs during most part of the day. Only 8 miles from Sanat Elana canyon and other hikes in the area. Usually at least 10-15 degrees hotter than the basin. $16 per night unless you have a senior or access pass.

quiet spot near the river. Fee is now $16. Campground was full when we arrived at 4 pm, but host said to come back when it was dark so we were able to park at "the day-use" area - for the same fee. Great solution!
