There are now signs that clearly indicate that Overnight parking is now prohibited from 6pm to 6 am. I went inside the visitor center to ask if I could stay for the night because we had a breaking system malfunction warning when druving the Blue Ridge Parkway.
, but I was told we could not stay over.

Parked our van slept here overnight. We had asked the person at the desk of overnight was parking was allowed and they said “we aren’t liable for damages or break ins, but yes.” So we gave it a shot. No one bothered us and it was nice being able to wake up and just head into the bathroom.

Report Check-In

Pretty quiet night sleep for being in the city. Around midnight all of the lights go out and the parking lot gets quite dark. you can hear the highway but it was constant noise. We heard one train in the night as well. Great location to walk to everythingbin town.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 1 night. Location is close to downtown and quiet a night. Near the highway but not too tight. There were a couple other campers as well.

Came back again, if it works don't fix it. Got here right before closing, and have to wait for the parking lot to empty before finding an ideal level-ish space. The lowest level is the best for most level, and it is usually least crowded. This is a rare gem in Asheville, let's no abuse it or trash it up. Don't over-stay, be stealthy, and haul out your trash and pickup any other trash you see. It helps the whole community.
