Camp right next to a canyon between Joshua trees. Fire pit. Road to this place is very Rocky but doable with normal car.

We loved that spot! Joshua trees around us, we saw a big rabbit and there’s multiple fire pits. Really quiet
Report Check-InAbout 10 minutes from the highway. Most spots were already taken on the way up (Saturday night 8 pm). Very dark.
Report Check-InIt looks like you used to be able to camp right on the cliff edge, but the track leading to the cliffside site is now blocked by a wooden fence and has a sign stating no driving down to the spot because it's a wilderness area. You could take a tent down there though. We parked in the parking area near the road, which was still really cool next to a bunch of Joshua trees. You can walk down to the viewpoint in less than a minute.
Report Check-InNot able to drive directly to this location. When I was there the pull off had several BLM signs stating "no motor vehicles, hiking only". There was a small trailhead parking area big enough for 5-6 cars. I spent one night there without issue. Nice view of the canyon and Joshua Trees.
Report Check-InWilderness camp. 2wd ok. No shade, no water but very nice spot right above a canyon. Great view. Surrounded by cactus. Could be windy but keep the bugs away. About 2km from hwy 15.
