Latest Check-Ins

First come first serve for the off season. This isn’t clear on the website. Spots are open at 2pm and there is either a ranger or a page of instructions on how to self register. Lots of free spots when we arrived at 3:30/4ish. Seemed to get busier but not full I don’t think. Toilets, showers and water still on. $35 for the night. Very nice :):)

Report Check-In

We stopped in at the visitors center in Orick, CA and the ranger told us we we may have trouble finding a spot to camp. We pulled in here around 3:30 and the sign said Campground Full, but we proceeded to the check in station and was told they had 3 cancellations! So, never take someone’s opinion of campground status or the signs literally, always check! The sites are small, but our truck camper fit fine. $35 per night, no hookups, no dump station. Water spigot close to campsites. Showers are .25 per minute. Firewood, $10.
Sites are semi-private and really pretty.

Nice enough campground but expensive ($35), no hookups, no dump, showers $.25/minute(!), campground map at entrance hut was awful. No cell service, weak Wi-Fi within 10 ft of entrance hut. Elk herd across the street in the morning, and close to beautiful drive (Davidson Rd) and nice little hike at Lady Bird Grove.

This place is to die for BEAUTIFUL!! Doesn’t get prettier than this. It seems the “loops” have the prettiest spots which seem to fit smaller vehicles or trailers. But I definitely wish I could have gotten a spot here. Drove through it on my bike and it’s like the jungle book!

35a night. two loops. beautiful. no cell service

Report Check-In

Disappointing campground and very expensive. $35 and the campground is just not very nice. Does have showers however.

Summer usually fully booked. We got a last minute cancellation so booked over internet for 2 nights costs additional 7.50 per booking. Showers quarter a minute and no dump for RV’s. no AT&T signal or wifi at visitor centre. Hikes in red wood forest are simply amazing. We did a 12 mile loop from campground to beach- fern canyon really awesome to enjoy this place. Shot hikes are plenty and beautiful too. Saw 4 bull elks in full glory. Totally Worth it.

Report Check-In

Beautiful old growth red wood forest with streams, hikes and elk everywhere
